“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
How do you Test the Spirits?
1 John 4:2
“By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,”
1 John 4:3
“and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
1 John 4:6
“We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
2 Kings 17:17
“And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.”
Matthew 24:24
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
1 John 4:4
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
What Does God Say About Them?
Leviticus 19:31
“‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.”
Leviticus 20:6
“‘And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.”
Deuteronomy 18:9-11
“When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.“
