Prophetic or Pathetic?
This teaching was recorded July 20, 1996, when the prophetic movement was at its peak. As new heights were being sought, some crazy things started to pop up. Immediate correction was needed within the movement if the church was to accept the New Testament Prophets.
If God has called you to be a prophet or a prophetic person, you do not need to change your appearance and your actions to something that is quirky and weird. God can use you just as you are. It is also important that you don’t think of yourself as being better than any other person out there. Arrogance in the prophets of God will hinder the prophetic movement.
Mail Order Prophet
This recording was made in March, 2012. “Mail Order Prophet” is the story of how I was tagged with the nickname “Mail Order Prophet”, and when I was referred to in this manner by church leaders. It was not meant to be a good thing! However, many of those leaders have passed on and here I am continuing to do what I was condemned for doing back then. As of May, 1995, we took a count of the number of prophesies I had mailed out, and the number was over 200,000. Now mind you, that count was made 17 years ago as of the date of this recorded video. I’m still living up to the name today, and will continue until the day I pass on to be with God the Father, and Jesus the Son in Heaven.
The Anointing
Elijah threw his “mantle” onto Elisha, which led to Elisha following in Elijah’s footsteps and ministering in the same ways as Elijah. A mantle is a symbolic representation of the anointing. The Lord said to Elijah, “Go and anoint, as prophet in your place, Elijah.” This led to the mantle being thrown onto Elisha.
Each mantle and anointing is unique. There are various types of anointings, and we need to find out what God reveals to us about our individual anointing. How do they function? What are they used for? Do we have to sit under someone and learn from them to receive a mantle? It is important to know the anointings of those we associate with.
Spiritual Nerds
A “spiritual nerd” is someone who is narrow-minded spiritually, and who lacks common sense. They can’t rationalize between what is truth and what is formula. A “nerd” will only work in one way – through formulas. If you don’t have a formula or an equation to figure something out, it is not real. Factual evidence is needed to believe in something spiritual.
The Pharisees were much like this. They knew all the prophecies and the scriptures, but didn’t recognize the Messiah when He was right in front of them. Today, we cannot afford to be spiritual nerds, or like the Pharisees of Jesus’s day. It is not enough to just know the scriptures, you must also know God’s heart behind them, or what He meant by them. We cannot assume anything, or we will wind up with God’s judgment.
His Ultimate Word
Jesus was the perfect symbol of what God called His Son to be. Moses failed. Elijah and Elisha failed. Even Abraham failed, but Jesus never did. What did Jesus do that made Him perfect? He did everything the Father told Him to do all the way to the cross.
It’s a lot easier to believe what the devil says than to believe and obey what God says. We do it all the time! Any negative news that comes our way, we believe it right away. But let God say something to us, and we doubt it, or even question whether or not we heard Him. His voice is almost foreign to us today. Hearing Him should become a normal, everyday occurrence in our lives. His voice is so gentle, if you are caught up in your own emotions and thoughts you may miss Him.
Body Ministry
There is a distribution problem when it comes to the gifts recorded in Romans 12. We need to know what our specific calling is. Too many people try to do all the gifts listed, and that’s not good for them, their ministry, or for the people they are ministering to. If we try to work in a gift that is not ours, we have the potential to cause people to question God’s power to help them. Something must not be working correctly if there is no power manifesting.
We also run the risk of neglecting our gifts by trying to move in something we shouldn’t. People may come to us for help in one situation, and we can’t do anything for them if we are spending too much time in an area we should leave for someone else to move in. Know your calling, and walk out your destiny to the best of your ability.
The Spiritual Gifts of God are Irrevocable
Once you have received a spiritual gift, something else happens that we haven’t really been made aware of in traditional church teachings. When you are given a gift, an angel is also given to you to minister for you. (See Hebrews 1:14) Gifts and angels are given to us for many reasons – protection, guidance, direction, and for help in fulfilling our destinies.
There are many people called of God, out there walking out there calling, but they lack one major ingredient. It is the gift and the calling that makes the difference, because it’s the gift that establishes the calling. This video message deals with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how angels of God work hand in hand with us in order to establish us in our callings.
Sending Out Your Angel
There are many reasons why God is sending out His angels to minister for His people. In Hebrews 1:14, we see that they are sent out to minister for us. With all that is going on in the world today we can see the need to have the individual assistance of an angel to help us get through all that is ahead of us.
When you find out the plan of God, then what do you do? You begin to step out and do what He said to do. You get into the obedience of God. During that process, your angel is helping to make the way for you to accomplish all God has for you to do. When you see things begin to happen, you will know you’re in the right river and you’re flowing right in the middle of it.
This video message has personal testimonies along with live ministering in gifts of healing and prophecy.
Messengers of God
Angels are messengers of God. They have power in the spiritual realm to do a lot more than what you think can be done. It will benefit us to study angels, remembering that they are mentioned many times throughout the bible. They are God’s messengers, and we need to recognize how to hear them, recognize their presence, and that they can even take on a fleshly form to help us in our natural situations.
Judging Angels
“Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?” (1 Corinthians 6:2-3)
This topic deals with knowing what spirit has attached itself to an individual and to know the power that every Christian has in order to have victory over our enemies. In every group of Christians, there needs to be a gatekeeper, or someone who can rightly judge the spirits around them. We are to test the spirits, because not every spirit is of Jesus.
