Word of Wisdom
“For to one is given by the Spirit the Word of Wisdom, to another the word of Knowledge by the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:8)
There is a difference between a word of knowledge and word of wisdom. Today, there is not a lot taught on the word of wisdom, and we fail to see the value of this gift. The gift of wisdom has been with us all along, but we haven’t focused in on how to obtain the ability to give the people a greater understanding of how to live in the era we’re in.
Wisdom brings great riches! Solomon sought wisdom, and the Lord blessed him for it. There is much value in a wisdom-filled word in your life, and if you desire God’s wisdom in your situation, and you follow the instructions of that word, you will be blessed.
Word of Knowledge
“For to one is given by the Spirit the Word of Wisdom, to another the word of Knowledge by the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:8)
A lot of people desiring a prophecy really just want to know about their future and how to get there. That is a true prophecy. But that is not what a word of knowledge is. What the word of knowledge does is identify something that has already happened in a person’s life, or something that is going on in a present situation. They don’t have to wait for a fulfillment of a word of knowledge because it is already happening, or is over and done.
The purpose of the word of knowledge is that the Spirit is revealing something going on in that person’s life so that they will believe He is there. Jesus said, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” (John 4:48) When you know God sees your situation, it brings faith to believe for more.
When Will These Things Be?
Through the Holy Spirit is the only way to understand scripture. He is given to us as a teacher and He instructs us in our day. We have a hard time discerning the times we are living in and we can’t understand the things coming in our future. Many are proclaiming what the future is, and they’re basing it on a literal understanding of the scriptures. But all their predictions have failed. There is only one correct interpretation of scripture, and it is given by the One who inspired the writers in the first place.
Use the reasoning of men to interpret the bible, and you will miss its meaning. You can’t make God a formula, like His book is a textbook of equations. This is why the End Times, doomsdayer eschatologists have missed it every time. The future is not what the popular churches say it is, and there has been no correct prediction of Jesus’s coming. If a prediction is truth, it will come to pass.
Walking in the Prophetic
There is a difference between walking in the prophetic and being led by the Holy Spirit. What is required of someone who truly wants to go deeper into the realm of the Spirit?
William Branham said, “I have died a thousand deaths.” This death to self is necessary for anyone desiring to step into the realm of the Spirit and go deeper in the prophetic things of God. When you begin to fully enter this realm of the Spirit, you disconnect with your self, your thoughts, and your troubles. It is all about Spirituality and not Carnality.
Spiritual Gift of Prophecy
“To another the working of miracles; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kind of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.” (1 Corinthians 12:10)
Prophecy is prediction, or something that is foretold that is still to come. When someone is given a prophecy, it usually begins with a word of knowledge, or when “God reads your mail”. And maybe even a word of wisdom, where God is giving someone direction and help in accomplishing their destiny. The purpose of this is to get your attention that the minister is hearing from God.
But a true word of prophecy takes time to come to pass. It may make no sense to you when you receive that word, but that is because many things need to happen before it can manifest in your life. Allow God to bring it about, and you will see that the prediction, or prophecy, really did come from Him.
Spirit of a Prophet
“And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:32-33)
We are taking back the Kingdom of God, but this Kingdom is not in the natural – it is spirit for God is Spirit. God has given gifts and callings to people so that we can deny power to those spirits hindering the Lord Jesus. But we must recognize how to minister in this power to set people free and to see the Kingdom expand as God desires it.
We need to learn how to draw upon the spirits, as those in the bible did. The spirit of the prophet is a great gift in the church today to demonstrate the power of our God, but it’s being sheltered and not allowed to be able to flow. We are going to see it begin to explode into the Body of Christ.
Purpose, Process, Promise
God isn’t just a “blabbermouth”. His words have purpose and meaning. Today, the Lord is calling His Body to assemble, but we need to find out where we all fit together. We aren’t all the same, and we function differently.
There is a Purpose behind everything God says to you. And there is a Process that you will go through that will stretch your faith before you ever see the Promise of His word come to pass.
Prophetic Interpretations
“Do not interpretations belong to God?” (Genesis 40:8)
One must know the thoughts and the ways of God in order to get the interpretation of anything God is saying or doing. Whether it’s through a sign or wonder, a dream or vision, through sounds, tongues, and all the different ways God works, it’s only by knowing His ways and thoughts that you can understand what He’s meaning to do. No magic formula will help us in this – it is all about knowing Him.
Prophesy His Will
Prophesying His will is a lifestyle that will keep you from the evil one, and prosper you along life’s journey. We are promised life more abundantly; however, there is a catch. You must be willing to die to yourself and allow Christ’s Spirit to lead you into this promise from God. You have a destiny that has been pre-ordained in heaven long before you were born. The quest each of us has is to seek God for understanding of what our destiny in this life is, and then what we are to do about it. Once you have found your destiny, nothing can stop you from fulfilling your purpose in this life and in the life hereafter.
Prophesy by Faith
A word of prophecy is always going to come to pass if it’s truly a word from God. The difference is whether you, the prophet/prophetic person, can interpret what He’s telling you correctly. If you don’t know how Holy Spirit is communicating to you, you’re not going to know how to interpret what is being said so that you can prophesy it to the one you are ministering to.
Many people believe prophecy is conditional, and that you have to believe it in order for it to come to pass. This is not true. The prophecy will come to pass regardless of whether people believe in it or not.
