I Want to Hear HIS Voice

For the past couple of years, I have noticed an increase in the number of people desiring to hear from God for themselves. It was for this same reason that in 1994 I went on television offering PMT’s first video correspondence program “School of the Prophets”. It wasn’t until January of 2003 that we offered our second video school of ministry, “The School of Prophetic Knowledge”. Many immediately enrolled and found the courses to be vital in launching their ministry.

As an interim offer to our graduates in 2005, we made available the training videos for those who might want to become an Internet Pastor under Prophetic Ministries Today. This method of ministry with the correct technology can be a great avenue for ministry and is still wide open for those who are Internet savvy. However, I believe it was a little bit ahead of its time, and many did not truly understand the scope and exposure one could have by offering their ministry online. This video course was short lived. With technology changing so quickly, the training became obsolete in just a couple of years.

Now after 9 years since our last school, it is time to update everyone with all that the Holy Spirit has taught us since that time. So over the next few months we will start putting together another video correspondence school and this is where you come into the process of making this video correspondence school one of our best. I need your questions regarding anything dealing with the prophetic move of God. You can email me at PMTkent@aol.com and I will reply A.S.A.P.

Below is a few sample quotes from email correspondence with questions and answers exchanged with one PMT’s Prophetic Partners. Now the pump has been primed, and the flow of questions are expected to keep coming in until we have completed this project. For those who send in their questions, I will place your email address on a special list and keep you up to date with the progress.

To stay abreast of technology and keep the cost down to a bare minimum, we will be offering this “New School of Prophetic Ministry” on CD, DVD and on PMT’s New Internet Video Channel that is presently under construction.

“I want to hear an audible voice/knowing like you do. “HOW” can I get this?

PMT Partner: I was just listening to an audio on your website wherein you were speaking about a hearing clinic that you use to give awhile back. That really got my attention. I have been searching all my life from books, articles, prayer, and speaking with others about how to hear the actual voice of God. There have been a few instances that I can count on one hand wherein I know that I have heard God. All of my research about hearing the voice of God has gotten me nowhere. I have read more books and ordered more tapes than you can imagine. They all say the same thing and they don’t tell me HOW to get it. I already know that I have to be knowledgeable of the written word of God, be obedient, etc. but something is still missing because I don’t hear God enough. Hearing once a year or less is not enough for me. I want to hear him and know how He speaks. Does he speak through music, billboards other people, numbers, symbols, etc.? But that is not His audible voice. I want to hear an audible voice/knowing like you do. “HOW” can I get this?

A better way to say this is that the impression of His voice is so strong it is like you are hearing His audible voice.

Kent’s Reply: Hopefully, I have not been misled to think that I am always hearing the voice of God audibly. There is so much to learn about hearing God. We use this statement-“hearing God’s voice”- so loosely. When I and most others say we are “hearing God’s voice”, I can see how easy it would be to think we are saying we are hearing audibly. A better way to say this is that the impression of His voice is so strong it is like you are hearing His audible voice. Don’t get me wrong; I have heard His audible voice, but it is a rare thing. God is omnipresent and speaks through all objects and all our natural senses. We will get more into this later, for there is a process that you must go through before you receive the full promise, and you will hear HIM daily. Trying to explain how you hear God is like trying to tell how falling in love makes you feel. You can explain all the obvious things about falling in love but how does it happen that you know this is the one you will spend the rest of your life with? How many ways does true love effect you physically and emotionally and how do you know this is love, you just know that you know in your “knower”.

PMT Partner: I have wanted this all my life. I would give anything to have it. I know that with my saying “I would give anything to have it” sets me up for a lot of heartache. I know that having that gift comes with a great price. I know this because of other prophet friends of ours (one who is now dead. He died at age 50). I see people who have this gift and still complain about their lives. What a fantastic gift to hear from GOD on a daily basis and to walk side by side with Him! What is more valuable than that? It is like having gold. Everything pales in comparison. I want to hear EVERY SECOND and not struggle to hear. I want it to flow and come naturally all day long. I know that this is a gift that you can’t earn. I can’t make God give it to me. He has to do it on His own. The bottom line is I don’t want to struggle with hearing. If I could hear then I could get the answers in how to deal with my problems. Whatever you can tell me about this would be greatly appreciated as well as praying that God would give me this gift. What does God say to you about this? Is it his will for me to hear in this manner?

Kent’s Reply: For the past 2 years, Ty and Sandy have been working on a book that deals with finding the answers to how the prophetic gift is birthed and how it works in a person’s life. I have personally worked with Ty and Sandy beginning when they were at the place you are at right now. PMT has over 323 ordained ministers who carry ministerial licenses and minister in some form of the prophetic gifts. One thing I can say about each one; not one operates the same as any other. They all have a variable of difference in their gift and hear God in a different way; no two are the same.

You will hear Him in the manner He has created you. Soon we will get into looking back and discovering some the ways He has revealed Himself to you in the past. There are reasons why. Your relationship with Him has so much to do with the manner in which He will speak to you. The best time to know that it is HIM speaking is when you are not praying or even thinking about what comes bursting into your thoughts.

Who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Best and Worst of Times

by Sandy Landry,

Sally Landry
Author & Teacher

The book A Tale of Two Cities, begins with the line,” It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. ” It seems to be what the prophets are saying about our future. It may be the worst of times economically, but when God’s people are pushed into a position of faith, and God supplies their needs and responds to their faith, then suddenly, we are in “the best of times.”

We will have entered an arena where we will be out of comfort zones, into the precarious and frightening world of faith. It is faith which God values and which He looks for, because now we are weak and He can prove Himself strong. It is sometimes a place that we don’t want to experience, because it means we will be dependent and uncomfortable.

We will need to depend on each other and on God, and on our hearing His voice. But the potential for the Church to find strength and greatness, to emerge triumphant and victorious will be in the worst of times. David is only a shepherd boy with some rocks in his hand until he faces Goliath, and then he is a warrior headed to becoming a King.

Dear Kent,

I want you to know that you through our Lord Jesus have always been a blessing to me. At times I go back to tapes that you gave me in the 1990s when I was in prison. And then even after the Lord released me 1996 you sent tapes that help me to deal with being outside again.

Five years being locked up changes you. The first time I was allowed to leave the half-way house, I could not wait to get back inside my room. But getting back to why I’m writing you is to thank you so very much for your ministry that our Lord has given to you. I have always been able to learn and grow so much through your teaching tapes and videos. I’m going to fight and keep spending a lot of time with our Lord. I just never have a happy day. Don’t mean to complain. As long as things go ok that is a good day but the last happy day I had is when I was bless to marry one of my best friends in August of last year. And that goes back to you helping me to get my Ministerial License.

I’m going to send you some pictures of the wedding. At times I look at all the things you went through and ask myself how did Kent go through all the things that have been put in his life. I remember a lot and the things that you shared with me when I came to Texas. I love you Brother Kent so very much.

Regarding Kent’s Article,

This is such an Awesome email “God’s Favorite Game”….when I saw the title I knew what the game was and thought right away that it was exactly what has been going on with me lately. It was like one of those A Ha (however you spell it) moments, then when I saw the email I had written it brought back to remembrance of when I prayed to God about my father and totally put it into God’s Hands. I remember my helpless feeling and inadequacy and knowing that ONLY GOD could help me.

I have been doing a lot of seeking God lately about many things for His answers and boy God seems to be good at hiding. It seems the more He hides that is when we finally do seek Him, like when we see He’s not coming out. This email really gives so many an explanation of what is going on when we feel bewildered and lost out in the wilderness. It sometimes feels that God is nowhere to be found, but He is just hiding and who knows for what reason, maybe so we will “Seek Him.” Just a shame that we have to come to the end of ourselves most of the time before we start to seek Him. Now I try to remember to stop and pray and be still about everything before I get carried away into confusion.

The part of where you say that helping find God for others is what prophets makes so much sense to me now.

God bless and loved this email,

Lisa from Georgia

Too Much TV Will Kill You!

One of the fastest growing problems in our Nation today is depression. I am not speaking of the economic depression, but rather the mental illness, depression; it is literally killing thousands. The major contributor to the impartation of this mental disease begins right in our own living room. TV News today is grafting images into our minds and stealing our happiness with thoughts of destruction. We must STOP NOW and get a hold of our thoughts. God is in control of tomorrow, and He will take care of us no matter what happens. AMEN?

Called A Pastor

The Lord calls men to shepherd His flock. But nowhere in Scripture does God call His people a herd. They are a flock, and the leaders are called shepherds. There is one distinctive thing about sheep; they cannot be driven. You can drive a herd of cattle… but you cannot drive sheep. They must be led!

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

Dear Man of God,

I thank God for the gift that you are to the body of Christ. The church and the people in general truly need the word of the Lord as this word has become scarce and difficult to obtain. I wanted a prophet to give me a word from God and I had to pay $1000 to get the word – money I could not afford.

You, however, have made the true, tested word of the Lord available to anyone who needs it, and for this I give God the glory for having made you available to the body of Christ.

Very clearly you have not traded seeking the Lord for a true word from Him, for anything else, and very clearly you take the time to hear from God concerning the lives of His children. I should stop writing this but I am tempted to continue, because my heart is rejoicing so much. You are not peddling with the Word of the Lord, and so be it forever, for the glory of God, and for the welfare of His people!

I am thankful to God dear Servant of the Most High. The word was spot on and I will hold on to it.

In His Service,
Joel

Heal the Mind, Heal the Body

What you think and what you believe does have a direct effect on your psychical body. Many medical professionals have documented journals that show what a person endures through their life can affect their health in a negative way. When a person goes through trying times, all kinds of health issues can appear, depending on how they handle their crisis mentally. For example, if a person loses a loved one through death or divorce, it will create a huge level of stress. This tragic event can cause that person to develop heart disease, diabetes, or neurological problems. These are just a few of the many health concerns a person can develop if they do not know how to mentally handle their loss.

Heal the Mind, Heal the Body

Word of the Week

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:31-34

Jesus commands us in the verses above NOT TO WORRY. Why? There are many reasons why we should not worry and one of the reasons is that WORRYING CAN KILL YOU!

I have been counseling people for over 20 years, and I can safely say there is a direct pattern connecting constant worry to deadly disease. Too many times when people go through a tragedy or death of a loved one they begin to worry and stress out. This opens a window for fear and doubt to enter one’s body and mind, if allowed.

How do we keep ourselves from worrying and stressing over the major as well as minor troubles of this life? It all begins with changing our attitude and thoughts about ourselves in this life. Through the teaching of the world, we have been trained to take this life way too serious. As we get older we start to realize this life is not what it’s all about; it’s the life to come that we should be living for. We must know that we are not to be living this life for ourselves. If we really have given our lives to Christ we won’t worry about anything and trust Him.

Faith to Faith

Part 2 – God’s Will

Once God has given you the gift of faith, all you have to do is walk it out. Of all those people who were reaching out to Jesus, the woman with the issue of blood, had a word from God. The word that the woman received was that if she touched Jesus, he would heal her. Jesus knew someone was healed because he felt the virtue leave him. Have you ever prayed for someone and all of a sudden you feel yourself empty into that person as God gave you the words to pray? When you pray what God says from heaven, every word will come to pass exactly, 100%.

Dear Brother Kent

I like to thank God for using you mightily in my life. In May 2008 you send me a word of knowledge. After I got saved, 2006 I was going through serious battles, everything was falling apart and I was wondering what was going on. I didn’t ask you about my problems but you told me God would deal with those who were troubling me. I didn’t have any idea what you were talking about, because I never knew any enemy in my life.

However, early last year around March 2009, God started revealing a lot of things to me, including roots of my problems and I saw my enemies perish in front of my face. Exactly what you told me, came to pass.

I would like to thank you for the CD that you sent me last month. You told me God would reveal many things to me. He is revealing to me how to make good decisions. Thank you for being a blessing in my life. I thank God for you! May he increase you and empower you more and more to do his work. To God be the Glory.

Thank you
Rehema

Reprobate Minds

The difference between the saved sinner and the unsaved sinner is that the former sins by default while the latter sins by design.

Reprobate Minds

Word of the Week

This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Thank you so very much for this timely word. It is encouraging to know inside after this scam that I will be welcomed with open arms to teach. Through the few days that I thought I would go to London and speaking I came up with all kinds of ideas and little revelations so it really helped me in the end. I really do want to help set people free and it is more important than any other things that are going on.

Thank you again for the word and God bless you. I pray that God gives you and Savannah even more peace and happiness in your hearts.

Be Anxious for Nothing

Charles H. Davis tells of a man who was hiking on a mountain. Caught up in the wonder of the landscape he lingered on the trail and darkness overtook him. Feeling his way down the mountain side, he slipped and fell over a cliff. As he fell he managed to grab a tree limb and he hung on for what seemed like hours, hoping someone would happen along and give him a hand. Finally, no longer able to hold his grip, he turned loose and plunged down a full six inches to the ground. Only six inches from safety, yet he suffered in terror. Why do we hang in fear when we can trust God for safe keeping? When things look tough, look up and trust.

Be Anxious for Nothing

Word of the Week

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Kent,

I just wanted to let you know that Carla and I are seeing a lot of what God spoke through you coming true right now.

Some of what you said is that God was changing my doctrine. Well He did and is. And I have felt the effects of men who don’t agree along with those who do.

Plus there were things said about me sending my resume out wanting to preach. And God kept saying wait. Well, that part has been going on. I will be in Texas the Sunday after Thanksgiving to preach at a friends church. Which is something that just came up out of the blue. Praise God for all He is and all He does. Amen!

Lost in Prayer

It is hard to believe that the war in Afghanistan has lasted longer than any war in America’s history. Yet we all seem to have lost touch with the fact that many men and women are serving and losing their lives. We must continue to keep them in our prayers along the way.

During the Bush administration the media posted the number of lives lost almost daily, seemingly with the intent of slamming the administration. However, the daily reminder of the horror our men and women faced kept most of us praying for them. I have to admit I too had become lax in my prayers and thoughts of these courageous people until this past August, 2010. Many of you may remember Wes Arnold, my late wife’s older brother. Well, he and two of his other brothers are now in Afghanistan as contracted support for our troops. Not only have Wes, Lee and Steven signed up to serve in the cause there, Wes’s older son, Sterling, and Lee’s older son, Levi, are also serving our country’s war effort. It has been reported that even though they are on a base that is considered to be a safe zone, they have come under mortar and rocket attack. Many troops and civilian contractors have lost their lives within the green zone. Needless to say we now PRAY daily for all who are serving in this war.

One of the CD’s we are including in our Partners’ gift is a CD of Prophetic Praise songs that Wes, Lee, Steven and Lee’s wife recorded some years back. Some of you may already have the CD. We are asking that you will keep them all, including the families state side, in your prayers. If you already have a copy of the album, would you pass it on to someone and ask them to pray too? It is very hard on the wives and children they leave behind, as you can imagine. Wes and the boys have been instrumental in, not just physically, but spiritually helping many there, as this has become their season of ministering to all who are in harm’s way.

Faith to Faith

Part 2 – God’s Will

Jesus did signs and wonders in many different ways. Sometime he spit on them, sometimes he said, “Go, you are healed”. Sometimes he prayed for them and laid hands on them. Other times, people laid hands on Him and Jesus said, “Who touched me?” such as the woman who had an issue of blood. He said, “Your faith has healed you.” It wasn’t because the woman believed harder than anybody else. It was not by her knowledge. It was not by her belief. It was by faith which is a gift of God! Faith is not something you do. It is something that happens to you. You can not “do” a gift. You do not conjure a gift.

Dear Kent,

Thank you so very much for your CD of prophetic Word to Becki and Ranko Goronja. Of course, at first they were so taken back to hear these things on CD, but Becki said it really helped soothe and encourage them in their situation, especially when they listened to the CD a couple of more times and digested it.

She said it was definitely a sign to renew their involvement in the Bosnian community when they returned home. Shortly after they listened to your Word from the Lord, there was a wedding invitation given to them from another Bosnian family. Becki said she had neglected these ties for a couple of years and they were all but erased from their Eastern European community’s consciousness. However, this was such a sign to them to renew their ties.

Becki was so grateful, and they are not losing heart with the present jobless situation. They are grateful for your uncompromising directness that a new job would not happen necessarily too soon for Ranko, but they would have to be patient. Of course Guy is worried to lose Becki to moving to another area, she has become indispensible as an employee. They are dear, dear people who have very good work ethic and character. They have had a rough road.

Just Do IT!

It does precious little good to memorize the prescription if one doesn’t take the medicine. A mere knowledge of what the Scriptures say may add to our guilt instead of relieving it. There must be application in order for it to work.

Just Do It

Word of the Week

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
James 1:22-24
