Angels All Around Us

Angels All Around Us

Angels, What Are They For?

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels(Hebrews 13:2).

Jesus is not only our Lord and Savior but also our mentor and teacher. He is also our King and our example. Through His disciples, Jesus has shown us the way to move into the realm of the supernatural. It took Jesus three and a half years to show his disciples how to be used as a vessel of the Holy Spirit, to walk in the supernatural with evidence of signs and wonders following after them.

Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe’” (John 4:48).

He has shown us how to receive and embrace angelic encounters, which bring about miraculous interventions. Jesus did many different healings and miracles, but He did so in many different ways so that we would learn not to get stuck on religious formalities. When we say the same prayer and use the same method every time we minister, we begin to practice a religious formula, which negates what Jesus is teaching us to do.

Jesus had some very unconventional ways in which we healed. He spit in the dirt to make mud and then placed it on a blind man’s eyes and they were healed. It is also written that he would spit directly on those who needed healing. You do not see these same types of ministries in operation today because it would not be socially acceptable. Jesus’ actions were bold, but before He ever acted Jesus first prayed to the Father. Whatever the Father told Him to do, Jesus did. This always worked for Him 100% of the time. Jesus has demonstrated what we are to do, and He expects us to do the work of the Father.

Today we want to see 100% accuracy in our ministries and churches. The world needs to see the evidence that Jesus is not dead but alive and is working throughout the body of believers. We are all members of the body of Christ. Each of us has a function and a purpose. Each of us has a gifting, whether we are aware of it or not. The spiritual gift of the Holy Spirit is there even though we are not sure we have a gift. These gifts can lay dormant for a long time. One of the ways your spiritual gift may be activated is through prophecy and the laying on of hands.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership(1 Timothy 4:14).

We need to be aware of how Jesus moved and walked. The things Jesus did were done according to the will of the Father. He said, “I do nothing on my own authority. I only speak what I hear the Father say.” That is the Christian way. That is His example for us to follow. Many times Jesus would pray to find out what the Father had to say. When Jesus prayed, there were angels ascending and descending upon Him giving Him instructions from heaven above. Jesus taught us to pray; “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” means we need to find out first from heaven what needs to be done on earth (Matthew 6:10). When your angel brings you the Word of the Lord and you begin to walk in it, nothing can stop you, for the “Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one(2 Thessalonians 3:3).

When Jesus was born in a manger, there was a rising up of an army who came looking for Him. Every child two years old or under was to be slaughtered because King Herod heard that a King was born and Herod feared the loss of his position as a king.

An angel appeared before Joseph and Mary and warned them to leave the town. King Herod sought the life of their newborn son, Jesus. They left the city and stayed away for a number of years until an angel appeared before them again and told them it was safe to return, for King Herod was dead. This was just the beginning of many encounters with the angelic host in the ministry of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

When Jesus stood before those who were to judge him, Pontius Pilate said to him, “’Do you not know that I hold your life in my hands? I can give your life or I can take it away?”, Jesus replied, “Do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?”. 12,000 angels were at His disposal to defend Him (Matthew 26:53). Upon His word, these angels could have destroyed everything.

When Jesus walked into a city, people came from everywhere to seek him. Jesus did not have to advertise His presence. The people just showed up wherever He was because the angels of the Lord would go out and gather up the people.

But to which of the angels has He ever said, ‘Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool?’ Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister FOR those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:13-14).

Jesus’s angelic encounters are important to us because they are examples of how our lives should emulate the likeness of our Lord. We are not to worship or pray to angels; however, we are to ask for spiritual gifts and His ministering spirits to be sent by God to minister for us.

Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?” (Hebrews 12:9b).

Pray Without Ceasing

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you“.
    (John 15:7)

You must first have God’s Word in you.

And I’m not talking about reading the scriptures. He may lead you to the scriptures to tell you what He wants you to do, but I’m saying you need a relationship with Him where you pray without ceasing, as we read in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you“.
    (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

How do you pray without ceasing? Do we go to our knees with our heads bowed and hands clasped? No, He’s saying you keep your antenna pointed toward Him and spiritual dial tuned into Him at all times, whether you’re driving, you’re talking or walking; no matter whatever you’re doing. Now it does take time to learn how to do this. Once you spend a lot of time with Him in payer you’ll find out how. You can get to the place where the only times you break down and pray like you used to is when you really need Him bad, like right now. All the other times you know He is with you.

You may be a plumber going through Home Depot and, all of a sudden, you stop and wonder “why am I looking at this piece of equipment? I don’t need that.” And you go on your way. You drive back 30 miles to where you came from, where the job is, and all of a sudden you realize you need that part. You should have picked it up! How many times has that happened to you? It’s the Holy Ghost telling you, Spirit to spirit. Get it! Those are the little things that add up to bigger blessings. Pray without ceasing.

For through Him (Jesus) we both have access by one Spirit to the Father“.
    (Ephesians 2:18)

Prayer is a place of being with God. It’s not a thing we do; it’s a thing that happens to us. Pray to ask God what He wants you to do; don’t pray to tell God what to do. Please! He’ll just mess up your life if He does what you say to do because He knows your needs better than you do. He knows our needs even before we ask (Matthew 6:8), so maybe we need to start asking Him what He wants us to do, and how He wants us to do it.

A lot of times we’ll pray, “God, I need something.” Or “God, I need to get healed.” What you need to do is say, “God, how do I get this thing need taken care of?” Then let the revelation come to you. You need to walk under that pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. Then you’re under His protection at all times. The grace of God is a good thing! But you’ve got to be willing to listen to Him. We’re saved by grace through faith, which is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).

In other words, if you want to get saved from a certain situation today, you’d better have faith by hearing what God has to say. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

You won’t believe it unless you experience it yourself. The point is not just to tell you about this, not just to give you my stories and testimonies, but to reveal the knowledge so that you may be activated into this new way of life, God’s way of living the abundant life all the way. So, you receive all that God has for you. I am attempting to fan that spark inside of you that will give you the ability to know of things to come, to be able to look around the corner of tomorrow and be prepared for where you need to be, for what you need to say and what you need to do. It’s important!

I used to be a bank president. A lot of times I’d have customers that would come in that wouldn’t want to go to the teller. They’d want to come to me. One time this fellow had come in and started talking to me; he was one of our loyal customers. I kind of read between the lines of what he was wanting as he slid his checkbook across my desk. He said, “I need about $750. My wife wants to go skiing and we have never done that so we’re going to try it. So, we need to buy some skis and stuff.” Then he just started talking. I knew right then he couldn’t read or write, so I took his checkbook and started filling it out. Without saying a word, I just pushed it back and he made his little mark and sent it back to me. I pulled the check out and called the secretary in so she could go and cash it. We were talking and I said, “Now let me ask you a question. How did you get so much money?”

He said, “Well my dad just told me I was going to be a ditch-digger, so when I got out of school in the third grade I started digging ditches.”

I said, “Yeah, but now you’ve got all this heavy equipment and machinery that costs millions of dollars!”

“Yeah, yeah,” he said. “Well I just got this gut feeling one day that if I’d go out there and start digging trenches and laying some lines down, that could work.” He had built a subdivision. Then that subdivision sold out really quickly, and he went and built another one, and another one, and another one. Then he started contracting for the government.

But we missed something real important there: He said, “I just had that gut feeling.” How many times has the Holy Spirit been called a “gut”? Really! “I just had that unction” or, “Oh, I just kind of knew that if I did it nobody would believe me. But when I stepped out and did it, it worked.” That’s not you; it’s the Holy Spirit.

We’ve got to be careful not to become rodomontade. “Look how big I am! Look how smart I am! Look what I’ve done!” All you did was obey the Holy Spirit and He commanded His angels to go make it all happen. That’s all you need to do to get ahead in this life, is to pray, hear and obey. He did all the forecasting, He did all the preparation. He did everything to make it fall into place just for you. You need His word working every day of your life and that’s no lie!

Who’s Way is It?

God is about to empower you with something that will give you the ability to not fear anything in this life. Now you can know all things to come, because Jesus Christ is about to reveal Himself on a level that we have never seen before.

We are going to begin in an area that could bring about a drastic change in your theology. It will also stretch your faith and direct you to the identity of your roots. We’re going to be talking about the Body, the Soul, and the Spirit, those things that our Lord desires us to know more about in this time especially.

We will begin to lay down a foundation that will give you some footing to know how to make it over that mountain. Whenever your faith seems weak, whenever the trials and tribulations seem great, the Lord will give you the ability to find the source and the answers to those things you have need of in order to conquer all that the world throws at you.

    1 Thessalonians 5:17-23 says,
Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How many of us want to be blameless before the Lord Jesus Christ? He’s talking about three parts of you as a human being. He’s talking about your body, an obvious part of all of us. He’s talking about your soul. Most people get confused when speak about the soul because they think it’s the same thing as your spirit, but it’s not. Your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. That’s where the battleground is in spiritual warfare, and that’s where most people start making their mistakes. They begin to meditate on sinful things and they think it is okay to think on them as long as they don’t act upon them.

Wrong!

Jesus taught that if you so much as think upon it you will do it (Matthew 5:28). Premeditated murder doesn’t start with an accident. It starts with a thought. And you nurture that thought until it creates the manifestation of that which is evil. So, don’t think that you are fooling God, and that you’re protected as long as you keep it in your soul – your mind, will, and emotions. If you think on it long enough, it will possess you. It will take over and you will lose total control, and when you finally snap out of it you’ll realize that you don’t even know how you got to where you are.

I don’t know if you’ve ever listened to these programs about people who have found themselves in a sinful situation. They did something they wished that they’d never done. They allowed it to start by those things that are forbidden for Christians, such as anger, hate, and vengeance. These things that we may sometimes want to do which we were supposed to have died to in the flesh. Do not think just because you are not acting out your sinful thoughts does not mean you are sin free. For if you continue to think upon doing something sinful you will eventually commit the sin; for it will take hold and possess you.

The body profits you nothing! Many people focus all upon the body, especially those who are looking for a mate. Just because they find somebody who looks good and is appealing to them does not mean their marriage will work. We’re supposed to be led by the Spirit in all things. And what the Spirit brings together no man can take apart. Too many people today are married in the flesh, the lust of the flesh, and just because they were married in a church does not sanctify their marriage. Just because they have a piece of paper that says “Marriage License” does not make it official in the eyes of God. What He is looking for is a person who is willing to be led to that person that He has so selected that they may find harmony and peace in life.

I could spend a long time talking about marriage counseling and about those who have found the wrong mate and also about those who are looking for a mate. We have a lot of people write in for a prophetic word from God. The very first question is usually regarding a mate; the second one is about finances, and the third one is concerning God’s will. A lot of times, those people get what God says and then they say, “Well I’m going to order another one because I didn’t like that one!” It doesn’t work that way. God does not line up with you. He does not allow you to restore His mind to be equal with yours. It’s the other way around!

Speak in Tongues to be Spirit Filled?

I, (Wes Arnold) was raised by a preacher of the Gospel in the Deep South of the United States. Under his tutelage I was blessed to receive much great advice. One of his many pearls of wisdom concerned the three keys to good preaching. Key number one was “Tell ’em what you’re going to tell ’em”. Key number two was “Tell ’em. And the third key to successful communication was “Tell ’em what you told ’em” Bearing in mind this parental admonition, suffice it to say that one does not need to speak in tongues to be Spirit filled. I just told you what I intend to tell you. My father would be proud.

Many teach that speaking in tongues is the evidence of being filled with The Holy Spirit. To support this view they refer to the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2. The writer of Acts never calls tongues “the” outward sign of The baptism of The Spirit but there is no question that he accepts it as “a” confirmation that this spiritual event has taken place. From the words of Peter in Acts 2:17 we understand the prophet Joel to say that the outpouring of the Spirit would be accompanied by daughters prophesying, young men seeing visions and old men dreaming dreams. While admitting that I don’t know how to dream anything other than a dream I feel safe in saying that the case for the things mentioned in verse 17 being evidence of the Holy Spirit is stronger than the case for tongues. Peter goes on to say in verse 18 “And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:” Should we require the gift of prophecy as evidence of the Baptism?

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12 not to be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts. He then proceeds to teach us that the gifts are diverse and not all Spirit filled people operate in the same gifts. Tongues and the interpretation of tongues are among those the listed in 1 Corinthians 12 and Paul did not take this occasion to mention that any were the prevailing evidence of being filled with the Spirit. Rather, as he taught that all who are filled have at least one supernatural gift, this empowering in any of its expressions could be said to be proof of the baptism. Not all Spirit filled Christians operate in their appointed gift or gifts. While this may convict them in the minds of others this is not evidence that they have not been filled with the Holy Spirit. This action is subject to the dictates of each human soul and not necessarily a reflection of an absence of the baptism.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14 :5 “I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.” In this verse we hear Paul’s desire but not his requirement to speak in tongues. He does highly recommend it especially in the area of prayer in verses 15-18 writing “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. Paul places his high stamp of approval on tongues with the words “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:” Yet for all that he makes no mention of evidence for the filling of the Holy Spirit.

I believe I stand in agreement with Paul when I say of speaking in tongues “Must we? No.” “Should we? Yes.” But we must keep in mind that the ability of Spirit filled people to pray outside the scope of their understanding is not necessarily operating in the gift of tongues that requires interpretation. One of the most profound reasons to pray with the spirit is that Paul says this is a blessing to the Lord in 1 Corinthians 14:16, writing “Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit,…”. It makes God happy when we pray with the spirit. Praying with the spirit is when the human spirit is directed by either the Holy Spirit or possibly angels what to say in a heavenly language not known by the supplicant. David said “I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise will continually be in my mouth. When we pray with the spirit we are praising the Lord with perfectly formed words from heaven.

To sum up, our stance at PMT is to forbid not the speaking in tongues while not requiring it for evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Growing Up in Trials & Tribulations

Jesus said, “Can you trust me with this experience without ever knowing why?”

My first prophetic sign from God came to me when I was 9 years old. It was in June of 1961 my sister, Pamela, and I had been staying with my grandmother who lived in west Texas. We had been sent to stay for a couple of weeks with our Grandmother during the hot dry months of summer while our parents spent some time alone. After a couple of weeks, we knew just any day our parents would call and let us know that they were coming to take us home.

One evening, around seven or so, the telephone rang; our parents were coming to pick up my sister and me. They would have to make a 60-mile trip, which gave us plenty of time to gather our things, pack them up and get ready to go. While Grandmother was visiting with my dad over the phone, the skies opened up and a very fine misty rain began to fall. There was something very strange about the way it made me feel. I knew something was wrong. It was odd that I was feeling so bad about the rain. You see, the average rainfall for the western part of Texas is around 15 inches per year, so rain of any kind is wonderful, but not this night.

Suddenly, from out of the misty rain an angel of God whispered in my ear with such clarity it was if he were standing right next to me. I could tell by the tone of his voice that he was deeply saddened as he told me, “Your Mother and Father are going to be in an accident, and it will be fatal.” While Grandmother was still talking to my dad, I began begging her to let me talk to him. I was going to tell them not to come that night but wait until the next day.

She kept pushing me away; then, suddenly, she hung up the phone. I asked her, “Grandmother, why did you not let me talk to him?” She responded, “They will be here in about an hour.” With tears in my eyes I said, “No they won’t, they’re going to have a wreck.” Grandmother did not take me seriously. She probably thought I didn’t want to go home or that I was tired. But I knew that I knew in my knower that the wreck was going to leave me without my parents. With no question in my mind His Word to me was more real than anything that my natural senses could ever reveal, I began to pace around the house pleading with God not to let them die. At one point I stopped, placed my forearm upon the front door. Resting my head on my arm, I began to use my mind’s eye to envision my parents just running off the road unharmed. This was a vain attempt to try and use my seer’s gift to change the outcome. I knew that it was a long shot, but I was desperate to save my parents.

About 20 minutes later, my Dad’s four brothers came walking into the house. They looked very serious, and I knew what was to happen next. I tried to make eye contact with them, but they would not look at me. Then one of my uncles sat down at the counter where the telephone was; he picked up the phone and acted like he was calling the hospital in search of my parents. Acting as if he was talking to the receptionist, my uncle began to repeat each word he was supposedly hearing on the other end of the line, and then he said, “They were in a wreck between Odessa and Midland and Mozelle Simpson was killed?” My dad’s youngest brother was standing behind me with his hands on my shoulders. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I broke down crying as my precious little sister gently patted me saying, “It’s going to be okay.” She was only two years old and didn’t understand what had just happened.

I found out later that my mother’s oldest brother was also told by an Angel from God about the accident before it happened. My Uncle Johnny and his family were vacationing in Colorado and had a week to go before they were scheduled to return to their home in Dallas. My uncle indicated that a strong, undeniable impression came to him that my mother was in trouble and they needed to pack up their things and get back home. He also reported that as they were coming into Texas the state troopers had set up a roadblock and were stopping everyone coming in from the north. When my uncle stopped at the checkpoint they asked for his driver’s license then they informed him that his family needed him and it was urgent. The troopers closed down the checkpoint and escorted my uncle and his family straight through Texas, to where all the family had gathered to mourn the loss of my mother.

For years, I pondered on why my mother died and my dad lived. I wondered if my attempting to change the word by envisioning that they just ran off the road without injury spared him. I also questioned if God only allowed my dad to live but not my mother because I did not pray hard enough. The answer is found in the remaining portion of this story. See if you can find it and gain the knowledge from its answer.

The prophetic gifts have been present in my mother’s side of the family as far back as to my great grandmother. In the picture you can see her standing with my great-grandfather who was of Scottish decent. Even though the gifts were prevalent in all their lives, they did not knowingly use them or even know what was happening to them when the Holy Spirit came upon them. My grandmothers and mother were considered to be crazy when they would tell of things to come. They were totally misunderstood because they did not know how the gift worked, and no church at that time in their area taught on prophecy or prophetic gifts; therefore, the church would not have anything to do with them when they came seeking guidance.

I remember my mother would tell me that I would die when I was 27 years of age. It was only a couple of times that she would come to me with tears in her eyes and tell me what she knew in her heart to be true. My mother was not being cruel to me she was just overwhelmed by what she was experiencing. I’m sure what she was seeing was we would be separated by death and possibly saw the number 27. The irony of this story is when she died in the car accident she was only 27 years old. I tell you this because it’s important that you see how easy it is to misinterpret what the Holy Spirit is revealing to you. It was difficult for the disciples of Jesus to understand what He was saying to them face to face, with their natural ears, how much more challenging is it to know what He is saying to us Spirit to spirit?

You see, it is not enough to hear God; you must know what He means. This is the true test of everyone who ears to hear. All Christians have the ability to hear His voice, but not all have the wisdom and/or knowledge to properly interpret what He means. This is just another reason why it’s important to work with a prophet who has the spiritual insight to know and understand what our Lord is revealing to His people.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” (John 16:13 NKJV).

Binding & Loosing on Heaven and Earth

Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
    (Matthew 18:18)

Over the years of being a Spirit filled Christian, I have heard various teaching on ‘binding and loosing’, but all lacked that certain anointing of the Spirit. For years I have been asking God to reveal to me the truth and how to activate these verses of Scripture.

To be totally honest with you, I had no idea whether I was supposed to loose the devil or bind the devil when praying. I listened to others as they prayed to see if I could learn something that I was missing; however, once again I was disappointed.

A few years back, around 2015, our Lord reminded me of something He had told me that I could do effectively. Then, and even after His recent reminder, I was still perplexed with His Word.

“If you will just say it I will do it for you.”

Now, this was the second time He had told me this, and I knew better than to take His word lightly; although, I did not know how to do this and see positive results. Oh, I had tried many times to claim things to happen with my own words or quoting the Bible effectively, but to no avail.

This very practice of naming and claiming a Bible verse was front and center of the Word of Faith movement I had grown up in during the 70’s. I tried hard, but it just did not work for me. In fact, I never witnessed the manifestation of what was spoken through the practice of ‘binding and loosing’ in accordance with one’s own authority.

However, when the Prophetic Movement began for me in the 80’s, I found my calling and it became very clear what I could do. Whatever I heard our Father say, that I could speak and it would come to pass. Just as our Lord Jesus said about Himself and the Holy Spirit.

For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.”
    (John 12:49)

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
    (John 16:13)

The practice of speaking what I have clearly heard from God worked and became the standard for my ministry and teachings.

    Simon Peter answered and said;
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock (foundation) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on Earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven.
    (Matthew 16:16-19)

When I learned of this truth about the foundation of the Church, I knew, that I knew, in my knower, I had discovered the true purpose of the Church. I was so excited about the foundation of the Church being based upon hearing the Father and that’s what the true Church was all about. To ‘pray, hear and obey’ was the very essence of what Jesus practiced for our instruction while He was on Earth. It did not take very long for the worldly part of Christianity to take control of the Church using methods suitable to their liking rather than God’s.

However, this revelation of the Church’s foundation did not seem to fit with what God had said to me for the second time.

“That if I just say it He will do it.”

I believe you can clearly see this is totally the opposite of what He has said regarding the voices of authority that should only come from our Father in Heaven. Obviously, what I heard was either not of God or I was missing something very important. After all, He did say that whatever we bind on Earth is bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on Earth is loosed in Heaven.

So, what is the missing link?

Pressing in, I started receiving bits and pieces. How out of one side of your mouth you can speak with His authority and out of the other side speak from your own authority. Part of the answer came as a number of followers were saying that I am an apostle, which I made ever attempt to correct them saying, “No, I’m a prophet.”

I knew prophets spoke whatever God said. Although, at that time, I had no idea how a true apostle operated. When I spoke those very words, the Holy Spirit began imparting His knowledge of my role in the apostolic ministry.

The powers of an apostle differ from those of a prophet. An apostle is given the power to speak those needs for the body of Christ and command changes without first hearing God. There are spiritual levels of trust that God gives to an apostle that differ from that of a prophet. When the vision of an apostle is proclaimed, the people who are called to this vision will carry the vision to its fulfillment.

So, here is what I have learned concerning binding and loosing on Earth and in Heaven: Wherever you find a true apostle claiming God’s promises right next to him will be a true prophet who first had revealed God’s plan.

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit
    (Ephesians 2:19-22)

Most of the things we discover from God are revealed to be very different from what we first envisioned them to be. This is true in this case as well, you see apostles are the first appointed leaders of the Church followed by prophets. However, before an apostle can rightly lead God’s people, he must first find the will of God from the one who is the revelator of God, the prophet. The prophet receives God’s will then shares it with the apostle. The apostle lays out the foundation to the people where God wants to take the Church.

Two instruments are required in order to effectively ‘bind and loose’ on Earth as it has been declared in Heaven. The first instrument to prepare is a Prophetic Proclamation. This document is the prophet’s interpretation of what God is revealing to His Church. This document is given to the apostleship to prepare an Apostolic Decree. After sharing with the body of Christ the Prophetic Proclamation the apostle will then declare with his mandate of the Apostolic Decree. With the declaration of this decree all agree upon (binding) or separate from (loosing) various functions and/or actions of the Church. Afterwards, the mandate is placed in the hands of the teachers to graft into the membership. Signs and wonders should manifest revealing the confirmation of these works to be the endorsement of God.

God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues
    (1 Corinthians 12:28)

Wouldn’t you like to see the Church move into the way God originally intended it to be? It can happen! Will you join us?

Impartation by Prophecy

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.~ 1 Timothy 4:14 (NKJV)

In the spring of 1989, I was traveling with two seasoned Apostles and a pastor who was thinking about starting a traveling ministry. We were going from one church to another in the western part of Texas. Being that I was the newest of the group, I was allowed to hold an early morning Bible study, which was not always well-attended being it was early and no one knew anything about me. I was still trying to find out who I was myself and seeking God for answers about what kind of ministry He had for me.

We had been on the road for a few days when we met up with Dr. Bill Hammond’s group of ministers. Ironically, it was in the same town in West Texas where I was born. As we started the regularly scheduled services, I brought the early morning message then the traveling pastor delivered his. The hosting Pastor of the church decided that we would all meet up for lunch. I was honored to break bread with these men and hear them discuss our plans for the afternoon and evening services. It was decided that Prophet Gary Brooks would be holding the evening service and one of the Apostles would minister the word in the afternoon.

That night Prophet Brooks delivered a wonderful message on imparting spiritual gifts through prophecy and the laying on of hands according to 1 Timothy 4:14. I was moved by the Holy Spirit to ask Prophet Brooks if he would lay hands on me and prophesy and see what gift the Holy Spirit had for me. Prophet Brooks replied that he could not do this unless the Holy Spirit instructed him to do so. I told him I understood and we went our separate ways.

The next day we began the same schedule as the day before. When the evening service came around Prophet Brooks brought another strong, anointed message; however, right in the middle of his message he stopped and paused for a moment. Then he called me up to the front of the people and explained what he was about to do. He laid hands on me and began to prophesy, speaking of the gift of prophecy and other positions I would hold in the Kingdom of God. Well, I did not fall out under the power of the Holy Spirit; in fact, I felt absolutely nothing. When I returned back to the home where I was staying I began questioning God if this impartation thing was even real.

The next morning, I woke up and began my morning prayer; suddenly, I began to hear this voice telling me what to expect for the day and what I was to preach on. I abruptly interrupted and said, “I don’t know who you are, but I will test you according to 1 John 4:1 and 2 and see if you are of God. “I was a little shaken as I got ready and started toward the meeting where I was to join the other ministers to discuss the plans for the next service.

As the meeting progressed we decided we would hold a joint service in Midland, Texas, the homestead of President George W. Bush. It was well-attended, and Prophet Gary Brooks was ministering that night. When the teaching portion of the service was over, Prophet Brooks announced that anyone wanting to receive a Word from God should come forward. Well over 400 people gathered around the Alter, not counting the children. We knew this was going to be an all-night service.

Prophet Brooks began to prophesy over each person, so I retreated to the back of the sanctuary. As I leaned against the door frame of the main entry, a Man with his son of about 9 years in age stood next to me. The little boy who was standing in front of his Dad turned around and asked, “Daddy can I get a Word from God?” It was rather sad because the Dad knew that they would be waiting for hours before his son could receive his prophecy.

All of sudden the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Are you going to allow Me to use you as a vessel that I may speak through?” I answered the Holy Spirit saying, “If you want to use me have the Father and little boy look at me.” No more than having that thought, they both turned and stared at me. So, I asked, “Does your boy want a Word from God?”

The man knew that I was traveling with the group so he took me up on the offer. We found a room that was not occupied and I began to pray. Suddenly, that voice I had heard during my morning prayer began speaking a long dissertation of God’s plans for the young boy. The youngster was my chance to put this voice to the test, so I began to say whatever I was hearing and experiencing. When I finished, the boy took off in search for a pen and paper to record the word.

Then the boy’s Dad walked over to a large set of double doors, and as he opened them you could see the alter and all of the people waiting for their chance to receive their prophecy. I was shocked when he began telling the overflow of people, “Come in here this man can give you a Word from God.” With my eyes bulging in fear, I watched a flood of people start toward me, quickly forming a line. I had no idea that this man was the Associate Pastor.

I shared whatever I heard from this newfound voice which was coming to me so fast I had no time to really think. Some people would cry, others would chuckle, and a few just seemed stunned. Of course, I had no idea if anything I was saying was correct nor did I understand what the word was meaning to each person. I began to stop after I ministered to each person and ask them what the word meant to them. As each one explained, my faith began to rise and I felt much more confident in what I was doing.

I realized that I could trust this voice, but I wanted to know why it was so different. Many times, I had heard the voice of God, but never had I heard him this way. Until that day, He had never spoken long, maybe a couple of sentences but no more. This voice was coming in like a machine gun. Later the Holy Spirit taught me the difference. What I learned was that when I received the gift of prophecy an angel had been appointed unto me to minister for me, telling me whatever God wanted me to know about each person I prophetically spoke over.

What’s Your Heart Saying to You?

Did you know the word ‘heart’ is mentioned in the Bible over 800 times? Have you ever stopped to think how this word is used when it is clearly not referring to the physical heart? Almost every time the word ‘heart’ is mentioned in the Holy Scriptures it is not referring to the muscle that beats in your chest pumping blood throughout your body.

The word is being used as a means of communicating to us something more spiritual than physical. Even today, thousands of years later, we speak of the heart often, but it’s not always in the context of the life-giving organ. For example, before a woman makes her mind up to stand at the altar and say her “I do’s”, she wants to know what’s in the man’s ‘heart’. She wants to know what is behind his exterior, what his true feelings are about her, his strengths, weaknesses, temperament, loyalty and the list goes on. It is safe to say the word ‘heart’ can be defined as more than a physical organ; it is something much deeper.

Some years ago, a close friend of mine, who is a minister, made a statement that set me on course to seek out the author’s meaning when using the word ‘heart’ while speaking of being born again. My friend was grumbling about what he heard people saying in regard to being born again; he didn’t like that they would claim they gave their heart to Jesus.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your ‘heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your ‘heart’ that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the ‘heart’ one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation
    (Romans 10:8-10).

My quest to seek and find out from the Holy Spirit, the author of the Holy Scriptures, what is the word ‘heart’ mean when used in this context. Little did I know that the answer would open a window to my soul that continues to this day to reveal many other secrets that have been sealed within the Bible. The more you see how the Bible flows from Genesis to Revelation, the more you will begin to build a systematic theology that works.

There have been lots of spirited sermons preached or printed that move people to believe what was being said. I have discovered that if you test what is being proclaimed from the pulpit by actually living or doing what is said you will find truth or a half-truth or no truth at all. It is very easy to swallow a half-truth, but not so easy when it’s a bald face lie. Unfortunately, many high-powered messages just do not pan out when put to the test. Now, we know the Bible is true and God is no liar, so where is the problem? You are correct if you said that it is the person’s error by misinterpreting the Holy Scriptures.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit
    (2 Peter 1:20-21)

So What is the Understanding of ‘Heart’ in the Bible?

When you see the word ‘heart’ in your Bible you need to fully understand what the author, the Holy Spirit, is revealing to you. The explanation the Holy Spirit gave me regarding the word ‘heart’ is this: when used in this context, it signifies the soul and spirit have come into agreement, unifying a spiritual force that has come from heaven to earth. Our soul is our mind, will and emotion that shapes our personality. The spirit is the life force that we draw from when we are in need of revelation or help that is hidden within us. When the word ‘heart’ is used in the verse mentioned above it is revealing that the man was given a new understanding that gave him a new spirit and also a new way of thinking. In this verse, Jesus is saying; “This person’s soul and spirit are united as one when his spirit is quickened by the Holy Spirit, and the renewing process begins.” This tells us more has changed than just the man’s personality or his words. However, renewing the mind (soul) takes time; therefore, each of us must continue to study, to show ourselves approved, so that we may continue to be more like Jesus, our Lord and Savior. It is our newborn spirit which we draw from that makes our mind (soul) students of the Holy Spirit, for He is our teacher and will reveal all that we need to know.

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him
    (1 John 2:27).

When we want to know the deeper things about a person, we must have the ability to see into their soul and spirit, (i.e. their ‘heart’). When counseling prophetically or giving a prophetic word from the Holy Spirit, we are in effect making contact with their heart (soul and spirit). This is how we know what they believe and what they have experienced or will experience in their life.

Many times, the late Prophet William M. Branham (1909-1965) would pray, commanding everyone’s spirit to submit unto him before he began ministering to the people. He would say, “I now take control over every spirit that is within the hearing of my voice.” When I first heard him say this I was shocked. However, later the Holy Spirit taught me what he meant when he spoke. His purpose for making this astonishing statement was to keep them in the spirit of faith.

The Soul

It is from the soul we gain recorded information that activates the word of knowledge, a gift from the Holy Spirit that reveals what has happened or is presently happening in the lives of those to whom we are prophetically speaking. One of the main purposes for this is to make them aware that God knows who they are and what is happening in their lives. This makes it much easier for people to believe when they receive a prophetic word of knowledge. Knowing what the minister said about their past was correct builds up their faith to believe the things spoken in prophecy (foretelling of things to come) regarding their future believing it will come to pass.

The Spirit

When you are ministering in the gift of prophecy, you will find yourself making a connection with that person’s spirit. It may help if you can envision this: Let’s say your spirit is talking with the person’s spirit to whom you are ministering, and you are receiving information about that person’s future. Once you have the revelatory information about the person you must begin to put into words what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you. Hopefully, in a spiritual way that will make some sense to person you are prophetically ministering too. This is where training in the prophetic really helps. We are not training ministers so much on how to hear the Holy Spirit but rather teaching them how to know His ways and His thoughts.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come
    (John 16:13).

Hearing without Knowing

When you are ministering in the prophetic gifts, you do not always know whether it is the word of knowledge you are receiving, something that has already happened in the person’s life, or if you are giving a word of prophecy, a message about what is to come. The person receiving the prophetic word can easily think that the minister is missing the mark when a word of prophecy is spoken, because it has not happened or does not fit what they are presently doing in life. It takes time to truly know if a prophecy is a true word from God. Some prophecies do not come to pass because the words are conditional, meaning the receiver of the prophecy was required to do something before the promise in the prophetic word will come to pass. However, a word of knowledge can be judged on the spot. There is evidence that is easily found just by asking the person to whom the word was given, if the things spoken have already happened in his or her life then you know it is a word of knowledge. Sometimes it takes more courage to speak a word of knowledge than a word of prophecy, for the proof of your accuracy is weighed instantly, whereas prophecy takes time to establish a solid track record.

Therefore, when you’re seeking the Holy Spirit for spiritual gifts ask for all the prophetic gifts, so that when you are called upon to deliver a prophetic word you can look into the whole heart of the person, soul and spirit.

The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart
    (Proverbs 20:27)

‘Has ‘Your Book” Stopped Speaking to YOU?’

Not all who prophesy are prophets, but all prophets do prophesy. That however, is not all a prophet is called to do. A part of the calling of a prophet is to be a messenger to the Church and deliver the prophetic message regarding doctrinal issues. The prophet is also known to be the Church’s spiritual weatherman, interpreting the signs and wonders. They are watchman who go over the wall that separates the natural from the spiritual and discerns the works the enemy. There are many other functions in which the office of a prophet is responsible, which are not always received well.

Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house,.”
    (Matthew 13:57)

The following prophetic message contains a word to the Church declaring our Lord is jealous and is calling His people back unto Himself. The enemy of God has led us astray by twisting religious clichés into our daily speech. This one cliché has robbed our Lord of His rightful position of glory and honor among His own people. These clichés are frequently used and have slowly turned the hearts of the body of Christ away from worshiping Jesus, to worshiping the Bible. This small and seemingly insignificant twist has caused God’s people to become blind to the issue. In this case, we see that the sheep have unknowingly created an idol before God, and that is ‘your book’.

This word is directed to all of us, including myself, please do not take offense with me. The purpose of this prophetic message is to prepare the body of Christ for what is ahead of us in the coming year(s). It is a warning to the body of Christ about how important it will become to have an ear to hear His voice knowing how we are to prepare.

The Body of Christ is in the midst of a great shift, and as you read this prophetic message you will see a need to stay in step. Drawing closer than ever to the Spirit of God. He is leading us into a higher level of praise, worship and ministry as we prepare for spiritual battle.

The Prophetic Message to the Body of Christ:
Do you hold ‘your book’ over your head and declare that ‘your book’ gives you eternal life? I tell you, ‘your book’ will not save you. When you worship ‘your book’ more than you worship Me, says our Lord, and you call it the ‘Word of God’. Do you not know that I Am the true ‘Word of God’?

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life
    (John 5:39, 40).

I Am not wood pulp and ink bound in genuine leather! I am Spirit and I tell you, ‘your book’ is your tuning fork. You are to use it to test what you hear. When you are not sure of what you heard is Truth go to ‘your book’. There I will show you if it’s Me or not. What you have learned from Me in the beginning will lead you into all Truth.

Many times, before as you were reading My power and anointing came upon you; do you think it was ‘your book’ that gave you this experience? Do you not know that it was I standing next to you when you felt as though Heaven rained down My glory upon you?

When the verses leaped off the pages and went into your spirit did you really believe that it was ‘your book’ that was feeding you the words that gave you this experience? Know it was I, your Savior, standing next to you. Didn’t you feel Me as I leaned over your shoulder and placed My finger on the chosen words in ‘your book’? With My power, the words came off the pages and went into your soul and made the transformation as if I had spoken to you audibly. Now I ask you, is this why you feel so compelled to worship ‘your book’ rather than Me?

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him(I John 2:27).

You even call ‘your book’ the “Word of God” but I tell you the truth, I Am the “Word of God.” Do you think that I died, gave you a book, and put you in charge? Is this the reason you continue to seek your book rather than Me? I tell you now; I am alive not dead as some have said. I Am the Word of God! And I Am not made of wood pulp and ink bound in genuine leather. I am the living Word of God and I will rule throughout eternity.
Therefore, if you want to continue to be feed from the true bread of life then feed upon Me. If you choose only to follow the book rather than coming to me. Then one day you will discover that the end has come. Blinded by your own reasoning, you will fail to see where you were supposed to be when I came for you.

He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God(Revelation 19:13).

Remember when you loved to read ‘your book’? Now when you pick it up you struggle not knowing where to go to find the answers you are seeking.

The revelation that once flooded your soul like a fiery baptism now has turned cold and you are asking why. Have you so soon forgotten how close we were back then? You knew so little about the scriptures. You allowed Me to teach you My ways, and we shared intimate thoughts with one another. But now I see you found someone else to teach you what they know and shape you into what they want you to be. It is not I that has forsaken you nor have I turned away. When I see you with another sharing ‘your book’, it saddens Me to know that you have chosen to go the way of the Pharisees. These men worshiped the book as well and they did not know Me when I came to them, and I am the One whom the book is about.

“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?”
    (John 5:43, 44)

Nowadays it seems that I just get in your way. Therefore, I will just stand back and wait until you are ready to hear what I have to say.

I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
    (John 6:35)

Comments:

To be clear, the Holy Scriptures is referred to as “the book” in this prophetic message. This prophetic message is not telling you to disregard ‘your book’ of Holy Scriptures. NO, quite the opposite. We are not to blindly following after voices that come to our heads or to our ears! The Holy Scriptures is our tuning fork which keeps our ears in tune with the voice of our Father, the Holy Spirit. Without the Scriptures we would be unable to keep in balance or have the reference to qualify what we are saying or doing as servants of the Most High. I see that this prophetic word reveals that we within the Church have begun to slowly tilt toward worshiping the book and have begun to idolize this wonderful and most precious gift from God, ‘your book’. The value of what has been preserved for us is priceless.

Thousands of men and women of God have tragically given their lives fighting to keep this book in print so that we would know our lineage and learn about our God. The balance is to keep our ears in tune with His voice by making ‘your book’ as your tuning fork. You will discover that your level of learning and knowing God’s will for your life will increase greatly. Most of all you will no longer hunger or thirst for more of Jesus for His anointing will pour out of you.

Simon Peter answered [Jesus] and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it‘”
    (Matthew 16:16-18)

The revelation Peter received is the very foundation of the Church! This is what Jesus is speaking to all of us. Hearing our Father, who is the Holy Spirit who is speaking to the Church that we are to follow.

Jesus never referred to the book as the Word of God; He always referred to ‘your book’ as the Scriptures. Throughout the writings of the New Testament we see that the testimonies given reveal that His Church was built upon the revelation of hearing God our Father in heaven.

The Holy Scriptures is one of the greatest gifts given to us for the purpose of rightly dividing the word of truth, especially when we are in need of confirmation from our Lord to clarify that we heard the true Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit uses the Scriptures to teach us how to discern good from evil. Therefore, we cannot allow ourselves to think that we can go through life without our Holy Scriptures. This valuable instrument is the number one place to start learning the thoughts and ways of our God and will become more valuable as you become a vessel for Him to speak to and through to others.

Jesus built His Church upon the precept that those who pray hear and obey are His brothers and sisters. The body of Christ, the Church, is to be led only by the head, Jesus Christ, the first born of many and is the rightful leader of all.

And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You. But He (Jesus) answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the Word of God and do it.
    (Luke 8:20-21)

That Old Time Religion Part 2

That Old Time Religion Part 2

[cvm_video id=”4681″]

Knowing the Things of God

What does God think? Did anyone ever think to ask Him? Yes, we can pray to a God who speaks back! For most, this is a revelation in itself. However, it is true, God Does Speak. Have you ever run across a verse of scripture but did not understand it? Here is some good news. Pray and expect to hear an answer from the author Himself.

He has given us a way to know all things. Yet, few consider checking in with Him before reacting.

What about current political issues? Most of us just pray the way we think it ought to be. Praying is for consulting God on this issue. The majority of us have been taught that we cannot know the things of God. However, this is not Truth! If we were to really know the truth about the current issues we face, we would turn red faced. God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. Do you believe that God might think we are all a little silly? He has given us a way to know all things. Yet, few consider checking in with Him before reacting.

For example, what does God think about the current issue of abortion? Just, think about it. For right now, let me share with you what God told me about the issue on abortion.

In 1993, I had a number of people asking me to seek God about the abortion issue. I was shocked to find out what He thinks about abortion.

Now, I don’t like the idea (of abortion) at all. For Christians, it is taboo. In 1993, I had a number of people asking me to seek God about the abortion issue. I was shocked to find out what He thinks about abortion. His answer came rather quickly. You know how He answers you. When He gives you His answer, it may take a couple of days to sort it all out. It takes the Holy Spirit to interpret the word for us. So, after God spoke, the Holy Spirit began teaching me what I am about to share with you.

First of all, God does not like murder. Secondly, He does not want His children practicing abortion. Thirdly, He does not care for those who are not His children. The last thing the Holy Spirit explained to me was this, if the followers of this world continue to kill their children through abortion, it will not be long before the Body of Christ will be the majority. I asked the Holy Spirit to show me in the scriptures for confirmation. So, He took me to the book of Hebrews chapter 12:3-11.

There I read where God the Father chastens those whom He loves. However, those that are not His children He hates. Now God does desire that all come into the kingdom of heaven. However, He is not interested in what the world outside of salvation does.

Do you think that you can make God do what you want Him to just because you found a verse or promise in the Bible?

The Holy Spirit began to ask me questions about the issue. He asked me, “Do you think that God is unable to answer the prayers of all the Christians that have prayed for the end of abortion? Does not God answer prayer?” I replied, “Yes, He answers prayer when we pray in His will.” Then Holy Spirit asked, “Do you think that you can make God do what you want Him to just because you found a verse or promise in the Bible?” I really did not know what to say. I had been taught that we could claim any or all of the promises of the Bible for ourselves. Also, that if I find it was God’s will for a generation to prosper all would prosper. Then the Holy Spirit began to ask me more questions.

He asked, “Do you think that God looks at all of you as equal?” I responded, “Well yes, we are all equal in the eyes of God. At least that is what I have been taught.” “Doesn’t the Bible say that He (God) is no respecter of persons?” The Holy Spirit had brought back to me the words of Peter and corrected me in the interpretation of that verse. “Do you live like a King? Do you have the same powers as Elijah or Elisha? Has God used you to raise the Dead?” I answered honestly, “NO!” “Then you are not all equal.” The Holy Spirit also, said, “When you enter the kingdom of heaven you will all have a designated place to spend eternity. Not everyone will be in the same position. You are all training in this world for the position you will hold for eternity. Depending upon our obedience to the Lord in this life will determine where we will sit with Him forever.

What Does God Think? There are so many things we can know.

“For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
    Mark 4:22-23

However, we must first have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. What is the Spirit saying about abortion today? What Does God Think about abortion? What does He want us to do about it?

If they (unbelievers) repent and accept Christ Jesus they are no longer of the world. Therefore, they are His. The church should stand in judgment of itself. Not being so busy judging the people of this world.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”
    John 18:36
