The Quiver of God

To be a Quiver of God is a tremendous honor. The process to become a Quiver is rocky to say the least; however, it is necessary. The vessel must be purged of its selfish desires. Like the hunter who goes out stalking his prize, so the Spirit of God goes in search for the one who will make a perfect vessel to carry His prophetic word.

Each one of His straight and pointed words are created in heaven, able to penetrate the hardest of hearts, instantly killing the desires of the flesh. When this selfish want is eradicated, the Quiver begins to see that its job is to carry the arrows of God.

Resting on the back of the Prophet, the Quiver rides through the jungle of life staring into the faces of the lost and hurting, who are frightened. They are afraid but know not why. The demons inside are holding them in bondage fearing the Quiver of the Lord and what it carries. Demons shutter as the Prophet walks by, cringing as it sees the angelic feathers fitted tightly around the end of the arrow to guide these miracle darts of deliverance. The word of God is destined to strike a perfect mark.

When the Prophet arrives and sees his appointed soul, the anointed arrow is selected as the Quiver gives way to the Prophet’s hand. Stretching the bow to the desired strength, the Prophet lets loose of the arrow sending it straight from God’s throne. As the arrow strikes its desired target, the demons begin to wither and fall away, setting God’s chosen free from sin and doubt. Knowing the demon has been cast out, the arrow shouts with great glory, but the Quiver remains quiet. Everyone begins to praise the Prophet, giving credit to the arrow of God’s word. The Quiver, however, does not speak even though it knew before anyone else what was destined to be.

After the great works of God are complete the Prophet makes it back to the place of retreat, back to prayer where it all begins and ends. The Prophet takes off the Quiver and removes the special anointing oil from the shelf. He begins to work the oil, deep in prayer, to keep the Quiver flexible ready to receive more of God’s powerful words. The Quiver is a mysterious part of the Prophet’s gifting for it only knows when to draw the bow. If it were not for the Quiver the Prophet might send the arrow too soon, forcing God’s precious word to fall to the ground thus displeasing the Master that it missed His mark. Therefore, every Prophet needs this special anointing oil to keep his Quiver youthful, free of blemish and scars. The most important duty of the Quiver is to know from God when it is safe for the Prophet to speak, to make sure not one arrow is loosed from the Quiver or placed on the bow until he is told.

Spirit of God

Spirit of God

[cvm_video id=”4407″]

The Prophet’s eyes have seen around the corner of tomorrow for each one of you, knowing that when I pass on to glory you will be in charge of picking up where I have left off.

You are the chosen ones of God and bearers of the Vision of the Tabernacle; you will operate under a double portion of His Spirit wherever you go.

Many of you will see deeper into the realm of the spirit than I and receive greater revelation. You will turn the massive rudder that guides the Church into the wind of God’s Spirit, making way for greater things to come.

Our children’s children will experience a life of signs and wonders, and it will be commonplace for generations to come.

You are the prophetical people who will push back the enemies of the Church. At the same time, you will learn from the Holy Spirit how to draw down heaven to earth with a great sound that has never been heard by the ears of mankind. You are the trumpets of God’s voice to all people, prophesying around the world the same message simultaneously. Time after time the trumpets of God will sound in harmony, ushering in the full manifestation of the Holy Spirit for all to see.

Woe unto those who do not believe, who defile this great and holy event. Those who blaspheme the Spirit of God shall not see daylight again, for the tormenters will drag them down into the burning pit. With gnashing teeth and whips of fire, they will be tortured day and night with no end.

Time is at hand to take a stand. Now, cast all your cares over to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and surrender unto His calling. If you will give Him all your life and possessions he will reward you with eternal life in His Kingdom and bless you in this life, meeting all of your needs. As you follow Him and obey His commandments He will take you into a deeper realm of His Spirit showing you things Angels yearn to see.

Test the Spirits

Test the Spirits

[cvm_video id=”4393″]

Sermon Notes

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

How do you Test the Spirits?

1 John 4:2
By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
1 John 4:3
and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
1 John 4:6
We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
2 Kings 17:17
And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

Matthew 24:24
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

What Does God Say About Them?

Leviticus 19:31
‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6
‘And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.

Deuteronomy 18:9-11
When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.

God Has Appointed These to the Church

God Has Appointed These to the Church

[cvm_video id=”4382″]

…God has appointed these in the church: first Apostles, second Prophets, third Teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues” (1 Corinthians 12:28).

Where does it say in the Bible that these ministries and spiritual gifts were removed from the church?

One of the most difficult things to deal with when you are called to the office of a prophet is the rejection you receive from your brothers and sisters in Christ. When you are branded by God with the gift and calling, you not only struggle to be as accurate as possible delivering His Word but also struggle with others standing around judging you. This makes it double tough. There will be those who listen to your words to find something that, in their doctrine or opinion, is not of God so they can then tag you as a false prophet.

It’s difficult enough to be a Christian in a world that is rapidly turning into heathens without having your own kind wanting to stone you. However, things have loosened up a bit in a few Churches, and there are a few people who are curious enough to secretly cross their denominational boundaries and ask for a word from one of the many prophetic people in the world today.

When I started in 1989, I felt all alone and there were a few pastors and lay ministers who wanted me punished for even thinking I was called to the office of a prophet. I admit in the earlier times it did sound very self-serving to call yourself a prophet of God. And let’s face it; those who were known to call themselves a prophet of God were people like David Koresh, the Wacko prophet from Waco, Texas or Jim Jones, the Kool-Aid prophet, whom both led their followers to their ultimate death. Back then you could not help but feel as though God was playing some sick joke, placing the mantle of a prophet around your neck only to have good Christian folks wanting to hang you with it.

So, you want to be a prophet?

No wonder I became known as the Mail-Order Prophet; it was what God was calling me to do and still maintain some quality of life expectancy. It was brutal enough trying to break into the Churches and ministerial alliances around the country during those earlier years. For the first 3 years in this ministry, not once was I received in a local church; although, God had me ministering 6 days a week somewhere. We had a live Radio Program, and I prophesied live over radio as the lines were open for callers. People would set up meetings in their homes, bank buildings, hotel ballrooms and many other unorthodox places. I wondered how long it would be before I could minister in a church building.

So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house’” (Matthew 13:57).

When I read this verse, I realized this is one of the promises of God. Not many would want to claim this verse for themselves. However, if you are called of God to the office of a prophet, then it helps you understand why these things are happening to you. With this verse of scripture in mind, I began to ask God to send me outside of the area- which He did. The first place God opened up to me was Hawaii, and there I was received with open arms.

The very first week I was on the Island of Oahu (population then was over 850,000); I was prophesying live over television. On the first day calls flooded the station, and the owners called the phone company to get a count of how many calls they missed in the 30 minutes I was on the air. There were 11 telephones in the television station and all were being answered, but according to the phone company we still missed 258 calls as the lines were all busy.

From there God sent me to Norway with the same overwhelming acceptance that I had in Hawaii the month before. Then on to Sweden, England, Thailand, Denmark and many other countries all with open arms starving for the prophetic encounter, believing God could speak through a simple broken vessel such as me. For the next 2 ½ years, I was out of the country for three weeks of every month.

It just proves that the promises of God are real; however, you do not have the choice just to pick one and claim it for yourself. It might not be the one He has for you.

Abiding in God’s Will

Abiding in God’s Will

[cvm_video id=”4371″]

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).

The verse of scripture has a much deeper meaning than you may think. To “abide in Me” is to live in Christ and Him in you. And you are forbidden to meditate or touch anything that is not of Him. This part of the verse is not too difficult to understand for anything of sin should not be let in. The next part of the verse has been misunderstood for a long time by many and needs further explanation; “and My words abide in you.” Here is what most people think this part of the verse is saying; if you stay away from sin and read your bible every day, or as often as possible then you are abiding in His word. Therefore, their belief is that the promise in this verse “you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7b) is automatically working for every believing Christian. And when it doesn’t work in their life they question their faith and the Truth of the Bible.

Let’s look at what Jesus says about the written word, i.e. Holy Bible, (logos). “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life” (John 5:39-40).

We must be willing to answer the call of the Holy Spirit and be willing to follow Him to the depths of our spiritual journey. He will take you through various situations a long this journey teaching you what His Words really mean. Whether it’s the written word or spoken Word we must obtain understanding for this will increase our knowledge and with knowledge we will become much wiser.

The Deep Calls unto the Deep

Now let’s give this some thought. It’s not too difficult to read your Bible and restrain yourself from offending God. So why doesn’t every Christian receive whatever they so desire after all the Bible promises it to be so? The promise in this verse we are discussing states that “you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

This is a very powerful promise and I will explain how you are to obtain this promise. Know the first part of this puzzle of truth must be broke down in order for us to see the prerequisites outlined within it before we can receive the full measure of the promise and its manifestation. Allow me if you will to stretch your faith a little and share with you what I have been taught by the Holy Spirit. The next few steps are not meant to offend but rather to help set you giving you a way to begin walking in the fullness of the promises of God.

Remember this one thing! The Holy Bible is 100% from God and is all true. Truth will always work when applied as instructed. If what you have been taught in the past is not working then it’s not being taught correctly and it’s time to ask the only true teacher for the correct answers. The Holy Spirit is the author and teacher that will give you all truth and nothing but the truth. Also remember what is written in the Holy Bible is not all there is to know about God’s ways and thoughts. We can continue to learn more daily from our God; for He is NOT dead He is alive and is speaking to you and me.

Who or What is the Word of God?

First of all, the Bible is not the Word of God, Jesus Christ is the Word of God. He can speak to you through the written words found in the Bible but do not be confused; He is not wood pulp and ink bound in genuine leather. (ref. John 5:39-40)

The Holy Scriptures are a compilation of divine events that are inscribed testimonials about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. When you are reading from your Bible you need to know the difference between the (logos) word and His (Rhema) Word. Many words in the Bible have more than one meaning for they originated in other languages other than English. So, when we read our Bibles in the English translation the same word can be used over and over as having the same meaning; however, in the original text it may have multiple meanings. If you are reading your Bible and you are just obtaining information as you study you are reading the written word or you could say the (logos) word.

The Holy Spirit can use any book, billboard, poster, man, woman, child and even a donkey to speak to you. There is no limit to how God can speak His (Rhema) Word or to say His Life Giving Word. We are always looking for the Life Giving Word, the (Rhema) Word of God. The (Rhema) Word changes or lives and gives direction, heals and delivers us.

Do you know what it’s like to have the Holy Spirit speak His (Rhema) Word to you in the very hour of your greatest need? This is the (Rhema) Word this verse is talking about not just whatever you want to read or claim for yourself. The verse is referring to the (Rhema) Word from Jesus Christ who IS the Living Word in this verse. “If you abide in Me, and My words (His Rhema Word) abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7). I hope and pray you understand this part and use it as your spiritual compass to guide you through life. Continually keep your spiritual antennas up ready to receive every Life Giving (Rhema) Word that comes to you. When it comes it is from your Master, King, Lord Jesus speaking to you. Pray, hear and obey, for it is the Christian way.

Amen, so be it!

Understanding Evangelism

Understanding Evangelism

[cvm_video id=”4327″]

I have always had a heart for evangelizing; meaning winning souls and renewing backsliders. For many years I thought evangelism was all about leading lost souls in the sinner’s prayer witnessing them being born-again. Well, Holy Spirit has shown me much more about evangelism that has freed me from a measure of personal guilt and self-condemnation.

What He has taught me is that my part in evangelism is calling out those who are to be a part of the prophetic movement. This one revelation has released me from the burden how I was to evangelize. In fact, Holy Spirit has shown me that when I prophesy I am leading believers and unbelievers into the revelation that Jesus is not dead, but alive and He is speaking to all who have an ear to hear and He will speak to you too.

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10c).

This understanding made me realize I needed a platform to start moving into God’s power to prophetically evangelize as many people as possible. So, I purchased time on a Christian radio station in Dallas, Texas so I could prophesy live over radio each Saturday morning. Also, I placed an ad in Charisma Magazine. Just so you know this was in the early 1990’s that all this took place; most people back then thought I was crazy including my pastor.

Within just a few short months, I had saved up enough money to pay one of my friends, who later became my brother-in-law, work up an ad to look just like what God had showed me. The very ad is the picture seen in the body of this paragraph.

Taking a deep breath, I sent the ad to Charisma Magazine then immediately went to work putting back enough money to pay for the next month’s ad. The wait for publication seemed to take forever. When I finally saw the ad in print, I felt I had really accomplished something great. That first month, not many people wrote in, but I did not lose sight of what I was doing, being obedient to God. The results were not my problem, nor did the measure of success dictate whether I continued running the ad. After a couple of months, we began to see the demand increase and it was becoming more difficult to balance doing the prophesies and continue working at my job; I knew then it was time to make a big decision. I wanted to give up my small business, but my wife and I were to be married soon and I could not see myself quitting as the ministry generated a huge monthly expense with no income to offset the cost. A few months had gone by and we were married and moved into our new home. I continued to keep the pace, building a new and controversial ministry as well as working a full-time job.

Then one day after coming home early from work, God began to deal with me about giving up my business and concentrating full time on the ministry. For the rest of the day, God and I had a back and forth discussion. I would remind Him that I just got married and my wife will think I am a bum if I close down my small business. He came back with the story of Elisha and how he broke down his plow, made a fire, and sacrificed his oxen as a symbol of his commitment to follow after the God of Elijah. Well, I knew what I had to do but did not know how my wife was going to take it. In a short time, she came home and she had a very strange look on her face. I was as nervous as cat on a hot tin roof, fearing she would break down when I told her what I had agreed to do.

No one, having put his hand to the plow,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God

    (Luke 9:62).

When my wife came home from work that day she revealed that God had spoken to her. I patiently waited to hear what she had to share with me. She began with something like, “I’ve told you I didn’t want you to become a minister after seeing all my Dad had gone through as a pastor, but God has changed my thinking, and you need to quit your job.” I was in shock, fumbling around trying to find my words. She stood stunned as I told her about the experience I had encountered with our Heavenly Father. We both celebrated and where ecstatic that we were about to take on a huge financial loss.

As my wife left each day to work at her business, cleaning houses, I would go to the post office to pick up requests for prophesies, return home and began seeking God for His Word. One day I received a phone call that shook me to the core and at the same time gave me relief.

A Charisma Magazine executive called me and informed me that they were going to have to pull my ad. Baffled, I ask him why. He began to tell me that pastors from all over were calling and writing their office threatening to pull their subscriptions and tell their followers to do the same if they didn’t pull my ad. When I asked what the problem was, he revealed that company had no issue with the ad, but that a few pastors believed I was using my gift for financial gain. I resisted the urge to lose my temper over the phone reminding him that we only ask for a love offering, and thus far we had not received enough “love” to pay their monthly charge of $386.00. He said he was sorry, and I let it go. Relieved, knowing I would not have to come up with the funds for the next month, I found myself telling our Father that I had done all I could and that now the problem was His.

To my surprise the ad was in the next month’s issue. I just thought maybe someone made a mistake. However, when the next issue came out it still had the ad, I was totally perplexed.

Then in a few days I received another phone call and it was the Manager for Carman, a Christian Psalmist, and he said, “You will never know why your ad is still running unless someone tells you.” Then he proceeded to tell me that the editorial and sales staff for Strang Communications, which owned Charisma and many other publications, wrote in anonymously for a prophecy tape from you. He continued to tell me that he was there the day they all sat down at the huge boardroom table with their tapes in hand. As they passed around the tape player, they each played their prophecy and the others judged the Word. He reported that no one at the table had a dry eye; they cried and made a prayerful commitment they would NOT pull the ad as long as they owned the magazine. After 5 more years, I finally asked Charisma to pull the ad, because there were too many requests to keep up with each month.

Breaking Sin’s Chains of Destruction

Breaking Sin’s Chains of Destruction

[cvm_video id=”4281″]

Sin is sweet for a season; however, when you have partaken of it too long, your mind becomes locked in a place of total chaos, rendering you helpless and out of control. Sin can be so soulfully justified for the moment. Its false appearance of being harmless lures you into a place of darkness. Only then do you discover you are chained and yielding to its every command. You struggle to get out, but your mind will not let you go. Deep in the pits of your soul it is hard to find the light that previously kept you safe, before you succumbed to this miserable sin.

You have tried to fight the devil and keep him from controlling your thoughts, but with little success. From the pits of hell, the images and thoughts of the past continue to haunt you. Each time you go to that same place, hidden in the corner of your soul, you are provoked and spin out of control. You seem to have little charge of where your mind goes anymore, as if someone else has taken over the controls that manage your life.

I, The Lord your God, will help you find your way out of this place” that makes you feel so bad about yourself. If you truly are set on being free, then today is the day of your deliverance. I hold an invisible Key that will unlock the chains that bind you. After you have removed the chains that control you, your mind will be free. If you take the Key that unlocks your soul, by the power of the Holy Ghost, you will take back all the devil has stolen from you.”

At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11)

Recite this Prophetic Proclamation & Apostolic Decree to break the chains from past sins.

Speak these words with the authority of a true believer.

“I, (your name) accept this day, (month-date-year) God’s invisible Key. As I turn this Key these sinful thoughts within my mind will go away setting me free from sin this day, for it is now dead to me. By the power of God’s Word and the actions I have taken by faith, I am set free from sin and death. Amen, so be it!”

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1).

You are now ready to receive God’s appointed Angel specifically sent to block any thoughts that may attempt to come back and lead you astray. With the help of His ministering spirit, you will call upon the Name of Jesus, and His Angel will immediately come to your aide, delivering you from the power of sin and its viscous ways.

The Lord says, “Now that you are free and My Angel walks with you each day and from this day forward you shall be mine forever more.”

“Not only have you been set free today, but you and I will begin a new journey together. The road I have paved with drops of My blood to Calvary it will guide you with the light of My words, for My blood cries out for you.”

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:28).

“Take heed to feed your spirit daily with the bread of life that can be found in the written word, The Holy Scriptures, your Holy Bible.”

It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

“Your spirit will need to drink daily; therefore, you must open your mouth and pray and praise Me with words from your soul and spirit. As you do these things unto Me, I will lift you higher and take you deeper into the things others cannot see. I will whisper in your ear along the journey, telling you of things to come. When you are confronted by the challenges of life, I will show you what to do; however, you must feed and give drink to your spirit each day lest it wither away.”

“When you speak from your spirit your words become My words and all heaven and earth must obey.”

“Prophecy My will on earth, as declared in heaven commissions My Angel to fulfill that which has been proclaimed.”

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).

Amen, so be it!

Evangelizing Souls

Evangelizing Souls

[cvm_video id=”4246″]

What is a “The Rag-Mag”? Well, in some parts of the country this slang word defines what is better known as Tabloids, those unbelievable magazines you see on the magazine rack where you stand waiting to check out. You know, the one’s with the story lines that are so shocking you want to pick it up and look at it, but you don’t want anyone to see you.

One day I found myself standing in the checkout line at the grocery store when our Lord said, “Take one and make an offer.” Sheepishly, I stuck it in my shopping basket where no one would see that I was actually purchasing it. When I got home I started looking through it, trying to figure out what He meant by “make an offer.” When I got to the center of the magazine I found ads from psychics offering all kinds of promises. There were about 20 ads in all; they were anywhere from a ¼ to ¾ of a page in size. Right then and there I knew what He wanted me to do. He was instructing me to go head-to-head against these psychics by offering His Word and giving the alternative for people to come to Him instead.

Immediately, I picked up the telephone and called the phone number for the rag-mag ad department to find out what it cost to place an ad. Back in that day, 1992 the Internet did not exist so the process was slow. In a few days, I received a packet with layout requirements, design instructions and pricing. When I saw the price I about passed out. The ad’s that I had seen the psychics putting up started at $3,000.00 to $4,000.00 per WEEK. Even though the circulation boasted 15 million readers per week, the cost just did not balance out for me.

After coming out from under the sticker shock, I readjusted my thinking to the impossibility of me putting in a color ad with images; I opted to go with three lines in the classified section. The cost was still too high, running $486.00 for three lines of text for one week, one issue. Looking to the brighter side, I knew the opportunity to reach 15 million people for Jesus could be a soul-winning experience.

Now all I had to do was raise the funds to put in the ad and then find out from our Lord what to say in those three lines. I knew that a lot of folks would not be interested in supporting what I was called to do, but I did know of one couple who would like the idea. This couple has been the most influential in training me how to know God’s will and how to follow His leading. From the time I was a little boy they took me in and what time they had with me they were very loving and craftily en-grafted the word of God into my heart and soul. Because of how much they loved God and how they were always willing to take their time and finances to further the kingdom of God, I knew they would be my best shot at getting the job done for Jesus.

The first thing I would need to do is make the 260-mile trip in order to sit down with them and explain what I wanted to do. When I arrived at my aunt and uncle’s home they greeted me with the same love and compassion as always. We sat down I began to tell my uncle and aunt what I needed to do. After my explanations, Uncle asked how much it was going to cost. With some hesitation I told him $486.00 and he replied, “Alright we’ll pay for it!”

Excited about the possibilities of reaching so many people with the Gospel message and the power of His Spirit, I drove back home seeking direction of how to go about this endeavor. After receiving His Word about the wording of the ad for this project I had it typed up and sent off to the rag-mag. Next, I was to record on tape a special sermon just for the people who would be writing in for a free prophecy. I knew the Lord wanted them to listen to the 15-minute sermon before they would be able to hear their personal prophecy. Once everything was in place the hardest part was waiting for the ad to come out in the weekly tabloid. Week after week I became a regular customer for the rag-mag, making my purchase and skimming the pages in hopes of finding the ad.

Finally, the ad was out and I just knew I would go to the post office and there would be tons of mail. As I walked to the post office I was thinking to myself that we probably would not have any mail as of yet being that if they received their rag-mag today. It would take a while before their letters would get to my post office box. It was my daily routine to walk to the post office each day to pick up the prophecy requests that were coming in from the ad I was running in Charisma magazine, so even if I had not received any mail from the rag-mag ad it wasn’t a wasted trip.

To my surprise, I opened up the mail box and there was NO mail, only a card that indicated I had something that was too large for my small post office box. I made my way up to the counter and handed the notice to the clerk and she came back with a large bundle of mail. As soon as I was back at my little office I started opening the mail and found that many of the people who had been seeking the psychics were Christians. In many of the letters they told me that they did not know that God had prophets for today and that they could seek a prophet for a word rather than having to go to the psychics. In fact, a few of the letters came from some of the people who worked at the rag-mag just thanking me for giving their readers a better alternate for finding spiritual direction.

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues” (I Corinthians 12:28).

After a couple of weeks had gone by and the mail had stopped coming in from the ad, I made an account of the number of letters requesting a word from God. The total was 110 requests; therefore, I prophesied and mailed out 110 audio cassette tapes with the 15-minute sermon and their personal prophecy at the end.

Here is the best part of this entire story. Out of the 110 people who had received their personal prophecy 3 of them wrote back to me to inform me that they had turned their life over to Jesus Christ because they knew what was said had to be from God. Surprisingly, two of the people worked for the Psychic Network and told of how the power of the word had stripped them of their psychic ability to give readings and asked if they could become Christians and learn to hear the voice of God. The third person was an atheist who gave her life to Jesus; this person writes me each year on their born-again birthday. One of the two ladies are now a prophetess for Jesus Christ and has done wonderful work in the name of the Lord through her ministry. We still Facebook and email each other from time to time. The other person that was converted from the Psychic Network to Christianity helped transcribe many of my teaching tapes into manuals that we used in our first School of the Prophets back in 1994. I have since lost track of her, but the last I heard she was doing a Christian radio program. Once again, the return for doing it God’s way is the only way to a successful ending; for it always pays to Pray, Hear and Obey.

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most-High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour” (Acts 16:16-18).

Born Again – Verses Salvation

Few issues contribute to more disunity in the body of Christ than an ages old debate over eternal security. Some say “once saved always saved” while others make the case for Christians being able to lose their salvation. The former crowd points to verses like John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” The same would be said for the verses Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life and Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Can We Fall From Grace?

Those that believe in what John Wesley called “backsliding” to the point of returning to a lost condition refer to verses like Hebrews 6:4-6 “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” 2 Peter 1:10 seems to indicate the possibility of a fall with the words “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:” This sounds like the writer is saying it takes diligence on the part of Christians to avoid a fall from grace much like is referred to in Gal 5:4 “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Which Side Is Right?

Each side of the argument has ample scriptural evidence to support their view point and this begs the question about which group is right. I believe that both sides are correct about what they espouse and both sides are wrong for not accepting the belief of the other camp. It is time for the church to come to agreement and settle this dispute.

Is This A Strange Paradox?

The issue concerns confusion over what it means to be born again as differentiated from being saved. Many if not most Christians do not know the difference if they are aware of one at all. In fact the dissimilitude is substantial.

Major Prophets

Isaiah 14:9
Hell from beneath is excited about you, To meet you at your coming; It stirs up the dead for you, All the chief ones of the earth; It has raised up from their thrones All the kings of the nations.”

Ezekiel 31:14b, 15a
‘For they have all been delivered to death, to the depths of the earth,
Among the children of men who go down to the Pit.’
“Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘In the day when it went down to hell, I caused mourning. I covered the deep because of it.”

Isaiah 38:18
For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth.

When the Hebrew scriptures were translated into Greek in ancient Alexandria around 200 BC, the word “Hades” (the Greek underworld) was substituted for Sheol. This is reflected in the New Testament where Hades is both the underworld of the dead and the personification of the evil it represents.

The Gospels

Matthew 10:27, 28
“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Luke 12:4, 5
“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

Matthew 16:18
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this Rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Letters to the Church

James 3:6
“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.”

2 Peter 2:3, 4
“By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does[a] not slumber. For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;”

Acts 2:27
“For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.”

Revelation 1:18
I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

There are three words translated “Hell” in the New Testament, Hades and Tartarus, which are Greek, and Gehenna, which is the Greek form of the Hebrew words Gee and Hinnom, meaning “the valley of Hinnom.”

1. HADES. This word occurs eleven times, and is rendered “grave” once, and “hell” ten times.

Finding Your Pillar of Fire

Finding Your Pillar of Fire

[cvm_video id=”4216″]

Everyone should have that place where they can go hear the voice of God.

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:11-12).

I have visited with many people and over the years I have heard of some pretty strange places where they have experienced God speaking to them. Your portal or pillar of fire where God sends down His word to you can be anywhere at any time, as He so desires. He is not required to be where you want Him. However, finding that place where you can meet Him at a certain time each day will greatly increase your chances of connectivity.

Allow me to clarify this constant misnomer. When I say “Hearing God” I do not necessarily mean hearing His audible voice. He may come to you with a vision, unction, thought, impression or any other way He so chooses to communicate to you.

About twenty years ago there was a book and teaching titled, “Can You Not Tarry for One Hour?” by Dr. Larry Lee. These teachings helped thousands of people learn how to pray and groomed them to become intercessors for God, which is the first step to learning how to hear His voice. The book and study material are based on the Lord’s Prayer found in Luke 11:1-4. I had the wonderful experience of being a part of this ministry with Dr. Larry Lee, which really helped me gain a foothold into my journey and find my place with God.

Most everyone who has spent time with me has heard me saying at one time or another, “Guess what God said while I was in the bathroom.” Yes, it is embarrassing, and the first time He spoke to me while in the powder room I felt like Adam, naked in the garden. For a split second I tried to hide myself; nowadays these encounters are as normal as breathing. This happens every time I visit the men’s room. It’s not the only place I hear Him but it has become my pillar of fire.

There are times I need to spend a few hours with Him and discuss lengthy and complicated problems. The little boy’s room is really not the place to spend that much time seeking God. For the longer dissertations I crank up the old Zero Radius Lawn mower. We live on a 2-acre lot, and it can take a couple of hours of mowing to get it all done. While riding with the roar of the engine behind me, I mindlessly go around in a square circle; there I can get lost in His Pillar of Fire.

Many times, I have retreated to the mowing process to get answers on how to deal with all sorts of situations. It always amazes me how much I enjoy those times with Him. I am not proposing, however, that if someone comes to you wanting to find God that you should tell them to go mow their lawn rather than telling them to go to Church.

Hopefully, you have already found your place where you hear God, but you may need some confirmation. Is it Him? Do you have the proper understanding? You know it is not enough to hear Him you must know what He means. In part, this is one of the duties with which I am commissioned to help you. If you have not found your place where you go to hear Him, then I can help you discover where He has been waiting to communicate with you. The fact is He has always been there wherever your “there” is; waiting for you to stop and talk awhile. Consider joining me online at one of our scheduled Live Streaming Events.
