Selective Hearing
Many times, people receive their prophecy and say they do not understand it. After visiting with the person for a while, you uncover what the real problem is. Usually, when they say they do not understand it, it’s their way of saying, “I did not want to hear that word and I want something more (or better) than that word.”
Sometimes God will send out a prophetic word and the person receiving it will be ecstatic about it, thinking it means something good and exciting. After a time, they come to realize it was actually an upside-down situation where nothing good came of it because they didn’t interpret it correctly. And sometimes God will relay a message of correction, but the person will not take it so seriously.
Even in reading the scripture, it is very easy to get confused, or select the things you want to hear and understand. But God wants us to know what He is truly saying today, and to Pray, Hear, and Obey Him.
Revelation to Manifestation Part I
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling. (Ephesians 1:17-23)
What are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints? What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe?
According to the working of His mighty power, which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come, He put all things under His feet. He gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Jesus received revelation of what He must do in order to inherit His heavenly Father’s throne. At Gethsemane, He yielded to be sacrificed at the cross of Calvary; there He paid the price for all of our sins.
This message will give you the revelation on how to receive the answers to your problems; whether it’s a need for work, family, relationships, or the small stuff. The revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ will save you from the pitfalls of life.
Jesus’s Teaching on Hearing the Father
We need to find out what we were created to do on this earth. Where do we fit in this life? Every one of us was created for a purpose and a destiny to fulfill. When you find out what that is, nothing will stop you from accomplishing that purpose. The only way to have success in this area is to know His ways and thoughts, and to obey what He says you should do.
Jesus was with His disciples for about 3 1/2 years. During that time, He did many miracles and healings as well as prophesied of His death and resurrection. The major lesson we should all learn from each of the testimonials in the Bible is that He wants us to learn to hear and obey the voice of His Father. (Matthew 16:13-18)
In HIS Righteousness
People get really confused about the word “righteousness”. We use it in puns and mockery or even as a compliment. “Oh, he is righteous.” Meaning he is cool, above par, or fits in society very well. But the biblical meaning of the word “righteous” simply means to be right with God. How are you going to be right with God?
Abraham is mentioned as one who was righteous. What made him righteous? He didn’t just have faith to believe. He did what God said to do. “Offer your son; put him on the altar; offer him up as a sacrifice unto me; give me your son.” How did Abraham respond? He made his son gather up the very wood that would be the fiery kindling that would scorch his flesh. He carried it up the mountain and laid him on the altar, ready to take the dagger and thrust it into his sole heir just because God said to do it.
Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. (Acts 2:43-45)
You take a man like this and see Him as a friend of God because he is willing to do whatever God asked of him. Yet, there are many who do not even believe we ought to tithe! They say, “Isn’t that Old Testament? I don’t believe we ought to attend services because I can worship God on my own. I don’t believe I have to walk according to the way of the church people because, you know, it doesn’t matter anyway. I gave my life to Christ when I was seven years old.” To tithe is an Old Testament commandment and many do not believe that it is necessary for New Testament believers. The fact is that we as New Testament believers are under a much stricter commandment and this verse says it all. God is asking for our all, not just a tenth of what we earn. His plan is to see us all prosper.
A Light to My Path
Sometimes we have to separate ourselves from all the confusion and get before the Lord so that His Glory and Light can give us revelation about what we’re supposed to do. There are many times in life that we walk the path with Him and find ourselves going into a dimmed area. It becomes dark, and we get bewildered and wonder, “Now what?” We need to go before Him and ask Him for His Light that will direct our steps so we’ll know which way to go.
To Pray, Hear and Obey is the only way to become successful in life. No matter who you are or what you plan to become, you can only be successful if you are one who has the ability to receive revelation knowledge from God.
What Is Truth?
“Pilate therefore said to Him, ‘Are You a king then?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’” (John 18:37)
Jesus also said that if it were possible, even the elect would be deceived. Nobody wants to be deceived by what they’re being taught today. So how do we know what the truth is? Knowing this will determine whether you know how to walk rightly in the name of the Lord.
Living Stones
We are living stones, being made into a temple for His habitation. And God doesn’t choose the smooth and perfect stones to build His house, but the broken and rough ones. Most people try to get cleaned up before coming to God, but the truth is He only wants those who are broken. Now is the time to take all your garbage and put it at the feet of Jesus, for only He can straighten up your life.
We are all part of the temple He is building, and we need to know where we fit in it. Are you a “hinge on the door”? Are you a stone that hangs over the archway? Where do you fit in the house of God? We all have a place in it.
In His Image
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” (Genesis 1:27)
This message reveals the creation of man in three parts: Body, Soul and Spirit. We were created to look exactly like God. He is our Father – the Soul, or mind, will, and emotions. Jesus is the Body, for He is the word that became flesh. And the Spirit is the Holy Spirit, for you must be born again of the Spirit of God to be God-like.
Choose Whom You Will Serve
Choices are the hinges of our destiny. The choices you make determine whether the doors of your destiny are going to open for you, or whether they’re going to remain closed forever. We believe in a sovereign God, but we also see in scripture that the choices made by men and women of God affected their destinies. If you don’t make any choices, the relentless drift of events will make the decisions for you. If you don’t make any plans, God will not direct your steps.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
Bought By His Blood
This meeting was hosted by the Pacific Island overseer for the Church of God of Prophecy, Pastor Gary Langley, in Oahu, Hawaii. The service was streamed over the Internet and videoed for the church’s weekly television program. Pastor Langley and I have been friends for over 15 years and had many wonderful experiences ministering together. God has truly blessed this church and many of the people I have come to know very well.
On the flight over to the Island, I had worked out a plan with the flight attendants to help me in making a proposal to Debbie, whom I am now married to. As we were landing, one of the flight attendants came over the intercom system and asked everyone to unbuckle their seat belts, stand up and turn and look at row 43. He then made the announcement that I was to propose to Debbie, which I did and she accepted. Everyone on the plane clapped and gave their approval.
Now about this particular message, ‘Bought by His Blood.’ This message is for those who are going through difficult times. There is a way God has made for us to escape life’s problems that can eat on your nerves and make your life miserable.
If you want to see miracles in your life and watch God part the troubled waters for you, then you need to hear this message. Even if things are going well now, you can count on the fact that someday you’re going to need to know how to maneuver through the troubles of this world.
