Angels & Tongues

Angels & Tongues

[cvm_video id=”3747″]

New revelation has come this week, so you can expect to hear something today that you have never heard before. The video that accompanies this short article will go into much more detail. Here are some highlights regarding the two or more revelations regarding Angels and the Gift of Tongues.

In the law, it is written“With men of other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people; And yet, for all that, they will not hear Me,” says the Lord” (1 Corinthians 14:21).

Finally, our Lord has made sense of the gift of tongues in a way that is plain as the nose on your face; however, the vast major of us have been missing this incredible truth. In fact, this new revelation is stretching boundaries that once existed but now are gone; the mysteries of His kingdom are being slowly unveiled. Each day a little more is uncovered for all to know.

Going back to the beginning of Pentecost we see where the baptism of the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were in the upper. We can make a clear distinction of what happened once they began to speak in other tongues. Fifteen or more foreigners heard their native language spoken from the upper room. This was an amazing event for several reasons. Being the fulfillment of the prophecy from Joel 2: 28-32. The visual sign that all must have seen in the upper room; cloven tongues of fire came down upon them is unforgettable experience. There was power distributed to all who would believe and they did receive the manifestation of His promise.

The point is that this type of supernatural event has not happened at this level since that day. It truly was a sign to all nations that no matter what language you speak or what your nationality is you can speak the language of God if you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, the baptism of Christ Jesus.

We probably all have heard of someone who did not know how to speak in the language of the people whom they were with so they began to speak in their heavenly language. Surprisingly, the people understood and reported that they were speaking at the highest level of perfection in their native tongue; however, the person speaking did not understand one word they said. It is true, you can witness a miracle of tongues coming at a time where you really needed one but none have had a group effect like that in the upper room; at least nothing recorded.

Speaking to Angels

Just this week the Holy Spirit began showing me something that made me shout out loud. I can tell you this one revelation; that about to tell you really gave me understanding and I pray it does for you too.

You have probably noticed that when you take the time to pray in your heavenly language life begins to come together in a much better way. It’s when we fail to pray that our life becomes chaotic and not in sync with God’s kingdom.

I have gone before our Lord and asked if He would show me what happens when we begin to pray in our spirit language. Here is what the Holy Spirit began to show me. When we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit to speak through us is when it basically happens. As the Holy Spirit uses us to speak through He is essentially speaking to our angels that are appointed to minister for us according to Hebrews 1:14.

“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”

Sending out Angels to do our bidding is not as simple as to talk to them like you would a human. In fact, we cannot make them do anything but the Holy Spirit can speak through us to have them do whatever He desires.

If you will ask the Holy Spirit to make your mind fruitful (knowledgeable) of the things being said that you do not understand; you’ll learn a lot. You may see things happening like stepping into a vision but having all your bodily functions intact. You may hear things and feel things that relate to the events that are to take place. When you understand that it is the Holy Spirit directing the Angels what they are to do it all makes sense.

“Therefore, let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding” (1 Corinthians 14:13-15).

Spiritual Tongues Change, Why?

This too is new revelation! When you are being used by the Holy Spirit who is speaking through you, in an unknown language you may sense that it sounds a lot like Chinese or Norwegian and then it abruptly changes to a totally different sound like American Indian or maybe Swahili.

“What’s up with this?” I ask the Holy Spirit.

This is what I received.

Most people have their heavenly language and it never seems to change its sound, its constant every time they pray in their gift of tongues. If you are one these people who have just one spiritual language then you seriously should begin to ask for more. There is good reason to have more than one language because it reveals the number of the Angels you have appointed to minister for you. Don’t you want to know how many Angels are ministering for you?

If you could see in the Spirit while you are praying in the Spirit you would see one Angel after another stepping up to receive their marching orders. Sending them out to be busy about doing what has been commanded of them. It’s a lot like when you are prophesying; with each word that you speak an Angel is being dispatched to do whatever the Holy Spirit has commanded. Through your voice speaking in your heavenly language you can now know what you can expect.

“Bless the Lord, you His angels,

Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word” (Psalms 103:20).

By now you might have figured it out! But just in case you haven’t allow me to share with you. Each spiritual language is designed to address a different Angel. Say you were praying in your regular spiritual tongue then suddenly you start hearing a language that sounds like the Holy Spirit is ordering a warring Angel to go out and attack on your behalf.

Then you sense another change and your tongue shifts to a the third command. Sounding much calmer and peaceful. Then you feel really smoothed over with a comforting unction that breaks out into a lovely fragrance. The order is coming through you to make peace with the fragrance and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Then the order of events stops as you know you have prayed through.

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14).

Walking in the Holy Spirit

WALKING in the HOLY SPIRIT

[cvm_video id=”3749″]

“I say then: ‘Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirityou are not under the law‘” (Galatians 5:16-18).

You must understand, what you believe is what you will do, and what you do will affect your destiny. It is important to know truth. If your doctrine is not in line with the Spirit of Truth you cannot walk in the fullness of the Spirit of God on earth. Christ Jesus now sits at the right-hand of the All Mighty One. We now have His Holy Spirit living amongst us.

I, (Jesus) will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you(John 14:16-17).

Being born-again and being saved are not exactly synonymous. When you were born-again you were saved from eternal damnation; however, salvation does not stop there. We need to work on our salvation in this life in order to receive Christ Jesus promise; “I have come that they may have life, and that you may have it more abundant(John 10:10b)

In this life for the abundant life here and now you work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure”(Philippians 2:12b-13)You must work out your salvation to be saved from potential heart disease, diabetes, and other deadly health problems. How we do this, by practicing moderation in all things, even when we eat or drink.

The same evil spirit (demon) that drives a person to over eat is the same spirit that drives the body and soul to crave alcohol. Both will rob you of living a prosperous and abundant life.

A demon can take possess in a certain area of your soul (mind, will & emotions) causing you to do things you may or may not want to do. In this area, we have allowed a demonic foe to enter our soul deep enough we are unable to remove this evil with ease. If we feed upon the things that are evil long enough you are going to start acting like the devil by doing what you allowed the devil to do within your thoughts. It starts by thinking upon evil and when nothing happens, no immediate punishment for doing so you begin to come into agreement with the devil, thinking it must be okay. Practicing sin can be sweet to one’s flesh for a season, but believe me it will eventually catch-up with you. When it does, you are locked into bondage until salvation is granted.

Learning the ‘Looney Tunes

“Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God(1 John 3:11).

You may have seen the old cartoon where the dog has a cat by the neck dangling him over an open well. In the cartoon, an angel appears on the dog’s shoulder and begins to tell him that it would not be right to drop the cat. Then on the other shoulder, the devil appears and talks the dog into dropping the poor cat into the well. The cat’s owner appears and beats the dog unmercifully. This may seem like an elementary analogy for tempting the soul, but it does have a measure of truth. This scene, which is meant to be humorous, is worth cataloging for the next time the devil tempts you. Abstain from all appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22).

The one thing about learning to fear God is to understand that His spiritual laws and how they are used to enforce His will. If you compromise with the devil, there will be a pay day someday. Expect to be chastened (punished) by the Lord for your disobedient behavior. Knowing that when we disobey God, we are punished. This should be enough reason for us to walk in His righteousness. Sometimes our punishment for our disobedience comes much later and difficult to understand why we are being chastened. “Some men’s sins are clearly evident, preceding them to judgment, but those of some men follow later(I Timothy 5:24).

When the chastening hand of God comes, it can be difficult to understand how the punishment relates to the sin. Most of the time we forget what sin we have committed that brought on such strange tribulations. I have discovered the closer you walk with God, the quicker the punishment comes which makes it much easier to understand why you are being punished for what you have done wrong.

The devil cannot possess our spirit! He will test and tempt our souls and body, but if we belong to God, the evil one cannot steal our eternal spirit.

Demon possession for someone who is NOT born-again is a much different situation. The person who is possessed by a demon obviously being used to serve the evil one. Part of our calling as a Believer is to cast out demons. To thoroughly cover this subject regarding casting out demons would take many lessons to cover this topic; however, I believe it is worth mentioning.

“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one (I John 5:18,19)

Every new born-again Believer’s testimony I have heard includes a statement of being delivered of some sin habit or major struggle. Whether it is cussing, smoking, drugs, anger, promiscuity and this list can go on; Believer’s report being set free. Usually, they share they still have one or more sin problems they are having to battle. None of them report being delivered from every problem or sin when they became a born-again Believer. They may still have problems with wanting to get drunk, chase women, or run with old friends who do evil things. Whatever sin problems you still have, God expects you to overcome them.

He desires us to show our will to serve Him by resisting the remaining temptations. We must fight the good fight of faith, believing you will receive His reward for overcoming sin in your life.

Show me a Spirit-filled Believer that is on fire for Jesus, and I will introduce you to the devil’s worst nightmare.

To be a born-again Believer without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, is to have eternal life with Christ but little power to defend yourself in this life against the world’s temptations. Therefore, I highly advise you to ask in pray for our heavenly Father to make a way for you to be baptized in Jesus, which is to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. “And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So, they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So, they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied” (Acts 19:1-6)

Begin to pray asking our Father in heaven to deliver you from temptation. Give your promise you will do everything your power to resist the voice to the who has lead you into so much trouble in your life. “Therefore, submit to GodResist the devil and he will flee from you(James 4:7) If you ask in prayer these things God will deliver you; however, you must do your part and that is not to give an ear to the devil again.

Make your mind up today; you will only follow One voice, the voice of the Holy Spirit. Commit yourself to obey His voice no matter what it may bring. Doing this will open heaven’s window of blessings and the Holy Spirit will shower you each day of your life guiding you into all truth.

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come (John 16:13)

Walk in the Spirit with the fire of His power burning deep within your spirit. Knowing that He will not lead you into ruin but rather give you more than your greatest expectations. To walk in the Spirit is to be led by the Holy Spirit fearing nothing on earth but the Spirit, for the Spirit is God. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirithe cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

In the Presence of the Holy Spirit

In the Presence of the Holy Spirit

[cvm_video id=”3751″]

Before ministering, William Branham made a statement during his public prayer to the Lord that has stuck with me to this day. He said, “I take every spirit in the hearing of my voice under my control.” In other words, no other spirit except the Holy Spirit would be allowed to speak or manifest during the time of ministry. I thought, “How can the man be so arrogant to make such a statement?”

Judge not least you be judged and by the measure you judge it will be measured unto you”  (Matthew 7:1,2)

Sure enough, not too long after I had that thought, I was about to pray before ministering in a service and I heard, pray this: “I take every spirit under my control that can hear my voice, and no other spirit shall speak except the Holy Spirit.”

I prayed the prayer as commanded and we had a great time experiencing the supernatural revelation of God among His people. Unfortunately, I must report to you that there was another time I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to pray the same prayer, but I was not sure if it was Him or me. So, I did not pray the prayer of ‘spiritual control’ and I have regretted it ever since. For a few years I started praying; “Lord, if anything I prophesy is not of you strike me dead.” This really got the people’s attention; however, after a while they ask me not to pray that prayer in fear of me losing my life. Well, I’m still here, twenty-plus years later.

Not praying, ‘the spiritual control’ prayer of the ‘strike me dead’ prayer left me and the congregation vulnerable to other spirits that interrupted the meetings. The first meeting I ministered I did not pray either prayer, while ministering in Norway. Oddly, a man jumped up and began rebuking me in front of the whole congregation about a prophetic word I had given. The pastor did nothing to stop the man and even began to chime in, agreeing with him. I had to stop ministering, pick up my Bible, and lead them into what the scriptures had to say about the word. The argument was over Psalm 105:15, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.” I had prophesied to a young man that as David did not go against Saul, God’s anointed, neither should this young man go against those who are anointed over him. The man’s argument was that Saul was of the Devil and not of God. My point is that if I had prayed the prayer of ‘spiritual control’, I am positive this episode would not have happened.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things” (I John 2:20).

Another statement that William Branham made troubled me as well, until I received confirmation through my own ministry experience. Branham was about to begin ministering to an elderly lady. He seemed to notice she was very uncomfortable. He said, “Do not worry; that is just my angel you feel and He is going to contact your spirit.” Wow, what is this? I thought to myself, this must be ‘New-Age’ statement I was hearing. But not so. We know that if we are born again we have the Spirit of the anointed one, the mind of Christ, the all-knowing One. Why would it be so strange to have knowledge about another Christian’s spirit?

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God” (I Corinthians 2:11).

The Holy Spirit searches the mind and will of God who lives in the hearts of believers. “Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:27).

Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4,5).

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12).

We know Jesus gave personal prophecies to many people while He walked the face of the earth. (Ref. Matthew 28:34 & 68, etc.) If we believe the works of Jesus, we too will do the works He has done, including giving words of knowledge, wisdom, and prophecy.

If Christ could see the words of destiny written on the tablets of another man’s heart, then why shouldn’t we be able to do the same when we believe? So, for William Branham to say that he would contact the spirit of another is simply to say that he would find out from his ministering spirit what was going on within their spirit. It is like communicating with one’s inner-self without depending upon any of your physical senses. In fact, when you are deep into that spiritual communication with someone’s spirit man, you are unable to hear clearly with your physical ears.

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. And the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you” (I Corinthians 14:24,25)

Many times, when I am ministering prophetically, if someone tries to talk to me I will not hear them. It is not because I am hard of hearing, but it’s as if I am not even in the same sphere. I can see their mouth moving, but all that I can manage to decipher is the sound of a distant gargling noise. On the other hand, if I am not in the Spirit I can hear their natural words very well, but I probably will not be able to hear the message within their spirit.

Era of the Holy Spirit

ERA of the HOLY SPIRIT

[cvm_video id=”3753″]

Jesus shared a prophetic parable with the Scribes and Pharisees. In this parable, we see the predictions of His crucifixion and rejection that He would endure. He tells of how God the Father sent His servants, the prophets, to collect the souls harvested in His creation. The overseers of the land ran them off, stoned and killed the servants of God. So, God decided to send His Son; surely, they would respect His only begotten Son. However, the overseers of the land killed the Son thinking they would inherit God’s creation for themselves. (Ref. Matthew 21:33-46)

We see where God the Father was rejected from His own vineyard and could not collect what was rightfully His. Jesus was sent by the Father to redeem mankind and was also rejected. Now the question is, if God the Father has been rejected and God the Son likewise rejected, then what part of the Holy Trinity remains? The Holy Spirit is the third part of the Godhead that subjects Himself to His own creation for the approval or disapproval of the nations.

People, we live in a time that is crucial to the church and the world. If we reject the Holy Spirit there will be no hope. Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation;” (Mark 3:28,29)

In the Old Testament, we read where God, the Father, offered to be the Ruler of His own creation and was rejected.

Then Samuel called the people together to the LORD at Mizpah, and said to the children of Israel, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all kingdoms and from those who oppressed you. But you have today rejected your God, who Himself saved you from all your adversities and your tribulations; and you have said to Him, ‘No, set a king over us!’ Now therefore, present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes and by your clans.” (I Samuel 10:17-19)

In the making of the New Testament, we find Jesus Christ, the Son of God came down from heaven and offered a better covenant to His people desiring to be their King. In response to His gracious offer, they crucified Him, mocked Him, and hung a sign over His crucified body reading, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. The shed life blood of the Lamb of God sealed the New Covenant and has become our salvation for eternal life. Yet there are many who still mock our God and His goodness. Remember what Jesus said, “You can reject Me but to reject the Holy Spirit, there is NO FORGIVENESS.” (Ref. Luke 12:10)

People, we are living in the presence of the Holy Spirit. If we do not accept Him and His witness, we have no chance of survival. We cannot afford to allow the Holy Spirit to be mocked. If this generation comes against the Holy Spirit and His will, judgment will be rendered swiftly. Those that claim to be ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, yet reject the Holy Spirit are surely doomed. It would be better for them to have never know of Christ than to know of His promise of the Holy Spirit, only to reject His wonderful presence. (Ref. John 14:26)

For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. (2 Peter 2:21)

Many millenniums have come and gone and man is still here. However, the coming of a new millennium holds great judgment for those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Please, do not be so foolish to come against a man or woman of God whom the Holy Spirit is using to manifest His gifts. In doing so, you will be coming against God, the Holy Spirit, and for that there is NO forgiveness.

The days of hyper ‘feel good’ churches are ending. Soon, we no longer will get away with acting like spoiled brats before God. His grace has been extended far beyond what we truly merit. His long-suffering is now turning into a callous rage. The ministers of His church who have stretched the limits of His compassion will begin to see the unfolding of the recorded words of the Lord through the prophet, EZEKIEL.

The word of the LORD came to me, saying, Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them. So, they were scattered because there was no shepherd; and they became food for all the beasts of the field when they were scattered. My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill; yes, My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them. (Ezekiel 34:1-6)

Looking at things from a more personal stand point, we need to start judging ourselves before God with these thoughts in mind. (Ref. I Corinthians 11:31) Are we truly walking out of this life in the likeness of God the Son? Where does one start to find the answers to perfecting ourselves to the stature of Christ? (Ref. Ephesians 4:13) We need to understand what is required of us in order to measure up to the likeness of God. If we are ignorant of these principles, then we will certainly find ourselves repenting over a life time spent practicing dead works.

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.” (Hebrews 6:1)

Hear & Obey or Go Your Own Way

Hear & Obey or Go Your Own Way

[cvm_video id=”3755″]

Jesus is not dead. He is alive and He is speaking to you and me. The problem is that many become dull of hearing.

We have become so involved in what the world has to offer with all its noise, its propaganda, and its advertisements that it has become difficult to know God’s perfect will for our lives. Though the Holy Spirit is always trying to speak to us over the noise of this world, and He wants to tell us what’s to come in our future – if we will only hear Him.

One of the ways God speaks to us is by revealing His will through personal prophecy from a prophet, things about which only God would know because no other would know the person’s situation. How will we be able to know except there is one given to us to hear God for us? By hearing a prophecy from a prophet or prophetic minister, you will have the unction and desire to hear God for yourself.

Hearing His Spirit Within Your spirit

God is speaking, Spirit to spirit. “Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).

The disciples said to Jesus, “Speak plainly, we do not understand, for You speak in parables and sayings that are confusing” (paraphrased). If the disciples walked with Jesus in the flesh, eye to eye, and yet they could not comprehend what Jesus was saying, how much more difficult is it for you and me? We who are born of the Spirit must hear him who is Spirit. It is a challenge. It is not something you can just begin to do. It should happen to you before you begin to understand. And when it happens to you, you will have a choice. You will have a choice of whether to hear and obey or to go your own way.

Obedience Is the Way

It is not sacrifice or works that God wants from us, but it is our obedience of what He wants us to do. It is through obedience that all the blessings of God come to us. Were you not called by God to confess Jesus to be His only begotten Son and Lord and Savior for all mankind? Was it not by the conviction of the Holy Spirit that you knew within yourself that you were a sinner? It was only when the Holy Spirit came to you and spoke to you – that gave you the choice to receive Him as Lord and Savior, or not to receive Him.

Did you know that the Holy Spirit wants to speak to you today? He wants to speak to you and tell you about all the good things He wants to do in your life. He also wants to give you instruction so that you can receive all the blessings that He has in store for you. The Lord wants you to pray, hear, and obey. How else will you know what you are to do for Jesus and His Kingdom?

Jesus said He did nothing by His own authority. He only did what He saw the Father do and spoke only what the Father told Him to say. That is the Christian way! Jesus knew how to follow the Father because His instructions were written on the tablets of Jesus’ heart by the very finger of God (see Proverbs 7:3). Did you know that God wants to seal His instructions on the tablets of YOUR heart? And He will do it when you begin to fervently pray, hear, and obey.

The Yo-Yo Way

Many people fail to receive the things of God because of three primary reasons: 1) They refuse to take the time to pray asking the Holy Spirit what He desires them to do; 2) After they have prayed and received the word of the Lord, they do not seek Him for confirmation and fail to know His timing when start; 3) They step out into their own decisions, failing to obey the instructions He has given them, only to find everything falling apart as they attempt to do it their own way or the way they think best.

We enter this yo-yo experience if God has asked us to do something that we do not want to do and we then take our lives back and want to do it our own way. It’s like we are stomping through His Blood at the Cross when we take back the life we supposedly gave Him. Whose life is it anyway? God said, “My servants will humble themselves and pray. Give yourself unto to Me and watch what I shall do for you.” But you should be willing to go all the way. No matter what the cost or fears you may have!

Most people today unfortunately want Christ only for prosperity, a mate, and a fine life. That is not the proper exchange. You must give Him your whole life for whatever He wants to do with you. It does not matter if you suffer in the process, because you will suffer in the name of Christ. What a great reward that is in store for those who suffer in His name. The outcome is His. When He is through with your life, you will be much more complete and your life will be better than you could ever imagine!

However, the devil would have you believe our Heavenly Father will ask too much of you. I tell you the truth, Satan is a liar and the truth cannot be found in him, for he is the father of lies. Do not believe him!

There are things He wants to bring out of us. There are things that He wants to strip from us. He wants to turn that mirror and let us see how He sees us and how others look at us. When we have truly given our lives to Him, we will find ourselves blessed far greater than one could ever imagine.

Learning to be Taught by God

Learning to be Taught by God

[cvm_video id=”3757″]

You are no longer of this world, you are just in it.

We need to recognize we are far above worldly concerns and surpass the pagan and the heathen. We can tap into the realm where God sits upon His throne. His throne is where He rules, reigns, tells us of things to come and brings us back to remembrance of those things He has taught us.

We need to recognize when it is God and when it is not God. We need to be aware when it is our emotions and when it is the Spirit of God. Too many of us are speaking out of our emotions, and not by what we are hearing through our spirit. Too many of us rationalize by what we have been taught, ‘what is of God’ and ‘what’s not.’ We need to begin to be taught by the only One and only Him.

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, in your hearts, so that you don’t need anyone to teach you what is right. For he teaches you all things, and he is the Truth, and no liar; and so, just as he has said, you must live in Christ, never to depart from him” (1 John 2:27).

It is written in the prophets, and they shall be taught by God” (John 6:45).

We need to learn how to be taught by God and by His Spirit. He speaks to your spirit. Your spirit has ears, your spirit has feelings, your spirit is combined of all the senses, plus more senses than the physical body. You need to be very sensitive to touch, smell, feeling, hearing, all those things in your spirit. For the Spirit of God will bear witness with your spirit, then you will “know that you know in your knower”–beyond a shadow of doubt that it is God. We need to learn to walk by our “KNOWER.” Because He knows all, we need to learn how to listen to Him.

Vine’s Dictionary of New Testament Words defines intercession as: “Primarily denotes a lighting upon, a meeting with; it is a technical term for approaching a king, and so for approaching God in intercession; (seeking the presence and HEARING OF GOD ON BEHALF OF OTHERS).

I feel sure the definition for intercession is different from what you thought. Intercession is the birthplace for learning how to hear the Voice of God. Many people expect something to just fall out of the heavens one day, and suddenly you begin to hear God. It’s not quite that easy. Surprise- you have been hearing God all your life. You just haven’t learned to train your ear to hear Him, nor have you started to curtail your thoughts to equate which are His thoughts and which are yours. For He said, “MY ways and MY thoughts are not your ways and your thoughts.” When God begins to speak to us about certain individuals, we need to be very serious of what we are going to say if we are going to reference that it is “FROM GOD.”

There is no greater thing that we can do for one another than to pray for one another. The Lord is pleased with those who pray for those in need. He would much rather hear our prayers about the needs of our brothers and sisters, the church, our country, the need for the balance of things, rather than hear our whining about our troubles.

He knows our troubles. We need to find out what He wants us to do to correct our troubles. That is why it is so important to have an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying– because He can fix it all.

Many people talk about their “impoverished” state -it need not be. If you had an ear to hear, He will tell you where to go, what to do, when to do it, and how to do it to obtain the means to our needs. If you are obedient and stop trying to compromise with your flesh, you will prosper. You will find yourself at the right place at the right time. How many times have you heard that cliché “Oh, he was just at the right place at the right time”? You and I can have that ability to be at the right place if we will have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying. The power of intercession is the beginning stages of developing an ear to hear the Spirit of God.

Are spiritual ears work like radio antennas. We receive all kinds of thoughts with our spiritual antennas sometimes they are up and sometimes they are down. Sometimes our dial is tuned to the Spirit of God and sometimes it’s not. Sometimes we get that dial turned all the way around and we are tuned into the pits of Hell, and not the Spirit of God. We duel all the time in the warring place of our souls. Thoughts come to your mind, and you wonder, “Why am I thinking this? This is hideous!” Where did it come from? You ought to know by now! Resist the Devil and he will flee. Don’t entertain thoughts from the realm where Satan exists. Do not begin to entertain those thoughts, because if you entertain them long enough you are going to fulfill them by believing in them. The spirit of fear comes and starts telling you, “You are going to lose your job, you’re not going to be able to pay the bills.” or “Oh, my kids are at school and I heard there is a child molester running loose!”. You start getting your mind all balled up with all these thoughts on how bad it’s going to be and the possibilities of harm are numerous. Stop thinking that way or you will come into agreement with the devil’s lie. Stop thinking; “They may get my child.” Do you hear what you just did? You just came in agreement with the Devil! Don’t do that! When the Spirit of God speaks, we must come in agreement with Him and Him only. Then everything will begin to work out in your life.

To lay down our life for our brothers and sisters, to intercede is a great thing. It is an act of giving if you pray for your Pastor needs, the churches and the lost begin to intercede for them all. You will forget about your own problems. While you’re busy praying for everyone else’s problems the Holy Spirit will be taking care of yours.

Moving God the Wrong Way

Moving God the Wrong Way

[cvm_video id=”3759″]

It’s not hard to realize what an unpredictable and chaotic world we live in. We experience change and uncertainty every day ranging from the mundane flat tire, spilled coffee, and lost car keys to more severe situations such as horrific natural disasters, random terrorist attacks, and nerve racking political and financial instability.

As Christians, we are blessed to know that as the World is falling around us, we can take comfort in the extended promise God made in Malachi 3:6, where He declares that He does not change and because of that fact, we will not be destroyed.

But despite being the source of our eternal stability, we still want to change God.

We want to Manipulate Him, with our Offerings.

We want to Control Him, with our Prayers.

We want to Influence Him, with our Actions.

God understands and recognizes this drive in us. In fact, the first three items listed in the Ten Commandments aim to help us realize this about ourselves.

You might not specifically worship Baal, Moloch or any of the other false gods listed in the Bible but we constantly place our own ambitions and aspirations ahead of God’s plans for us, selfishly thinking that God should work to achieve the trophies we covet rather than us working to bring Him Glory by fulfilling His plans.

Forbidding graven images doesn’t stop with statues carved out of wood and stone, but extends to our limiting God’s dimensions to what we believe to be physically possible. This is sometimes seen with people thinking their problems are too big for God. In their mind, they’re too sick to be healed, their marriage is too damaged to be repaired, their debt too staggering to be repaid. Limiting God’s power is sometimes excused with thoughts that God isn’t interested in our problems, there are more important issues for Him to focus on, and that we aren’t good enough for God to want to help us. This ignores the sacrifice Christ made through His Death and Resurrection and treats it as though that isn’t enough.

Thinking of God as existing exclusively in the box we put Him isn’t limited to sometimes believing heavenly intervention isn’t possible or won’t come, but also through restricting the supernatural to our natural needs. Only crying out to Him on behalf of some favor or service we need from Him is using God’s name as a manipulation of His Holiness for our own vanity. It’s easy to become “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.” 2 Timothy 3:4,5

Too often we fail to use prayer to intimately communicate with God to build our relationship with Him, but instead to conjure His infinite powers for ourselves. It is subtle in this manner, but the blatant spell Abra (Father) Kadabra (Of the Father: Son) Alakazam (Holy Ghost) done before spectacular magic tricks exactly mirrors how many Christians call out God’s Name in prayer before asking him to perform some miracle at their behest.

But it isn’t simply through prayer that we try to control God. We also tend to believe that through “good works” we can coax God into doing what we want Him to do. Some people give their tithe to Him only under the condition that they be repaid back the loan we give to Him with usury level interest added of course. Others fast from necessities like food and water to convince God to give them things they desire. Popular pilgrimages too, encourage us to walk long distances so that God will take steps in the right direction.

It is easy to dismiss this sin as one that sprung up after the Fall of Man, but it is precisely this desire that caused the Fall of Man. Adam and Eve did not eat of the forbidden fruit due to having no other source of food. The Snake’s sales pitch was focused on the lie that eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil would make Adam and Eve ever powerful like God.

Even in a perfect Paradise where all our needs were met, we had no pain or worries, and we were living in communion with God and His Creation, it still wasn’t enough for Us. We still want to be like God, to have His Power, to essentially replace Him. Sometimes He does give us the desires of our Hearts simply for us to realize that it doesn’t truly make us happy and that we feel fulfilled living the life and destiny He planned for us before our birth.

So how do we move past this desire to control God?

By giving Him total power over our lives and putting Him first in all aspects of it.

Your business and career needs to be focused on achieving God’s Will; the money and success will flow like a raging river but they will mean nothing to you compared to the satisfaction you gain from offering your Work Life as a sacrifice to God. In your marriage, you must love God above each other and then yourselves. The Joy that stems from a God focused partnership will turn the tide of divorce in our nation and help heal the emotionally shattered relationships that we are surrounded by in the lives of our families, coworkers, and friends.

Giving total control over to God can be terrifying for most people since it makes us feel terribly vulnerable and we worry about whether God will take care of us in the way we need. This is especially true when we feel most powerless and should rely on Him to not only thrive in the tough moments in life but sometimes simply to survive them. But the God that knows the number of hairs on your head, is the very same God who knows your deepest fears and desires to sooth your wounds, connect with you deeply, and let you understand and feel his infinite Love.

The strengthening of your relationship with God only comes with spending time and communicating with Him in prayer. Then, when you hear God, you will understand His Plans and Promises and you will begin to truly trust Him. This trust is manifested in our obeying His Word and surrendering ourselves fully to Him. It is a great irony that only through submission to God and His Will rather than trying to control Him with our dead works, will we be able to fully experience and be blessed by His Power. It’s all about Praying, Hearing and Obeying.

What Is Truth?

What is Truth?

When interrogating Jesus, Pilot asked the question of Him,

“What Is Truth?” He then went out and told the Jews that he found no fault in him. Soon after, Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from death in glory. Two thousand years later, that same question till reverberates.

We are more equipped to answer that question concerning truth than Pilot was because Jesus kept a promise made to his disciples in John 14:16-17, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

We are assuredly living in this age of the Comforter – even after two millennia – because Jesus said, “He may abide with you forever”. This is the very reason we still worship Jesus today after so many years after his death, which was seemingly one of many during the time in which he lived, for the crime of sedition. Crucifixion was generally reserved for these crimes, and all the condemned had signs placed announcing the reason for their execution. Jesus’s sign indicated he thought himself to be the king of the Jews, while many only mocked him as such, according to John 1:11. “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.”

The point is, there were many would-be messiahs around the time of Christ. Why do we remember and revere only him? It is well-nigh impossible that Jesus is making such a stir after all this time and yet millions around the world are devoted to him.

This is explained in John 15:26, “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”

The comforter that Jesus prayed for the Father to send is keeping the name of Jesus alive in the hearts and minds of men today. The Spirit of truth testifies of Jesus. That is why when the gospel of Christ is preached, hearts are changed even today because the Holy Spirit bears witness with the human spirit that Jesus is the Lord of Lords. Without the Spirit of truth, we would all remain hopelessly lost in sin.

In chapter 16:13, John says, “However when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

This verse confirms that as long as we have the Holy Spirit of truth (forever), we will be able to rely on “all truth” and knowing “things to come.” Thus we can be certain that gifts of the Spirit still operate. Words of knowledge, words of wisdom, and prophecy are alluded to in this verse.

In John 17:17, Jesus said, “Sanctify them by your truth: your word is truth.” The word translated “word” in this verse is “logos”. It means something said; or to speak intelligently. The Holy Spirit is now and forever speaking the word of truth of our Father in heaven.

Let us rejoice in the assurance given to us in 2 Thessalonians 2:13, “But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.” Bless the risen Lord for sending the Holy Spirit to abide with, and even in us. The Holy Spirit always brings forth the truth.

The reality of the Holy Spirit in our lives is such that we don’t even need any other to teach us. This is stated in 1 John 2:27, “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” Anointing means endowment of the Holy Spirit. It is by the Holy Spirit that we are led, learn, and live. Without Him we perish.

In answer to the age-old question, “What is truth?” – I believe the Bible says it best in 1 John 5:6 – “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.”

Gentle reader, know this above all things: The Spirit is truth! By this we know that water is only water unless God says it is wine. And that poison will harm you unless God says it won’t. And even that a terminal illness will kill you unless God says you are healed.

Even the laws of science acquiesce to the Spirit of truth. In short, whatever the Holy Spirit tells you is the truth. But how will you know if you don’t hear? This is why we continue to stress the importance of praying, hearing, and obeying.

What Is Sin?

What is Sin?

[cvm_video id=”3761″]

We hear a lot about sin from Sunday pulpits and while there is variance among preachers concerning where the gray area ends and the sin begins the consensus generally is that they are against it. The same can be said for God in scripture. Not surprisingly the Lord has a firmer grasp on the subject.

Paul tells us in Romans 14:23 “…for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” Paul is teaching in this chapter that if God has not by way of revelation given you liberty in an area it is sin for you to do it. He makes the point about whether or not one should eat meat or only herbs saying, “and he that doubteth is dammed if he eat because he eateth not of faith.” But Paul says for himself that God has assured him that it is permissible to eat both telling us in verse 14 “I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.”

In Romans 2:14-15 Paul talks about the law being written in our hearts “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)”

Paul says this is how even a gentile can do the will of God without actually knowing or practicing the law. God writes the law in the hearts of men. This takes us back to Paul’s premise “ whatsoever is not of faith is sin” which gives rise to the question“How do we get faith?”

Paul addresses this question in Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ.” Word in this verse is a translation of the Greek word rhema and means that which is spoken. Faith does not come from what is written like Jewish law or even the Bible. Rather faith comes from what Jesus speaks to us by way of the Holy Spirit. This is an ongoing process until the day God takes us home to be with Him.

Romans 8:14 tells us “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” The way it works is Jesus speaks, the Holy Spirit shares His words with us by way of our born again human spirit and as a result we have to choose to obey. If we choose to disregard what Jesus says James tells us in 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

Roman chapter 1:17 says “…The just shall live by faith.” So quite literally we live by hearing God and obeying the law written in our hearts by Him. This gives understanding to Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him…” Paul indicates that this law written in the hearts of men is an individual process and that as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling we should not judge others that have not received the same faith yet.

Paul says for some it is alright to eat meat and for others their faith will not allow it. He calls neither wrong but only admonishes us not to let our liberty cause another to stumble. Let us all live according to the manner of Paul in Romans 14:22 “The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God, Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

Paul is letting us know that we should not look to our brothers and sisters in the Lord to emulate their behavior necessarily. What God has approved for another may not be the case for you. Once again, we cannot escape the truth that the Christian way is to pray, hear and obey.

Do I Have to War Over My Prophecy?

Do I Have to War Over My Prophecy?

[cvm_video id=”3765″]

There is a trend among some present-day prophets to teach that for a prophecy (foretelling of a future event) to come to pass the recipient of the word spoken by the prophet must war over the prophecy. This demand places responsibility in no small part on the person receiving ministry. If they fail to fight the good fight the things foretold do not happen. To understand the truth of this matter will require a modicum (I hope) of deductive reasoning. By that I mean we must link some premises with conclusions.

Our first premise is that God knows the future. In Isaiah 46:9-11 God says he does with the words “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”

Our second premise is that when God says a thing will happen it happens. Verse 11 above indicates once God has spoken a thing it will be brought to pass.

Our third premise is that what God has spoken concerning the future He will make happen. He tells Isaiah “yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”

The verse used to support warring over one’s prophecy is 1 Timothy 1:18 “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

In this letter Paul was writing to Timothy to instruct him on how to deal with a growing problem of false teachers besetting the church at Ephesus. Paul is encouraging Timothy to be bold and stand up to these false teachers and confront them with the truth of scripture. To help combat Timothy’s timidity Paul reminded him of former prophesies he had received. Paul was essentially saying “according to what God has told you fight the good fight knowing that you will win in this situation.” Basically, Paul was telling Timothy “Man up son. Don’t you remember what God said?” Paul told Timothy in accordance with and by the prophecies concerning him, he should fight the good fight. He did not say on or over the prophecies fight the good fight. There is nothing in the chapter suggesting Paul was worried that the prophecies would not be fulfilled.

To say that a lack of faith on Timothy’s part would alter the future said to come by God labels the words of the prophet a lie in Isaiah 46. It would take willful ignorance to not understand that God told Isaiah if He has spoken a thing to occur nothing could stop it from happening.

As I was discussing this issue at the PMT office with Eric this past week I found myself telling him that the future is as fix in time as the past. In other words, in the same way we cannot change what happened yesterday we are unable to change what God says will happen. I realized with a jolt in my mind that what I had just said came not from me but from God. Later on my hour commute home I started thinking that maybe God did not really tell me that and I shouldn’t say that to people with such conviction.

Two days later as I left the house I felt compelled to take with me a thirty-year-old notebook gathering dust on a shelf. When I got to the PMT office and looked through it I found a couple verses that I had read before but never paid any attention to.

Ecclesiastes 3 14-15 reads “I know that everything that God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him. That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed away.”

Thanks be to God for confirming His word!

It is not logical to say that a future that can be changed is actually the future at all. With our finite human minds we deal with only possible outcomes as a natural consequence of actions. When Gods tells us what is coming there is only one possible outcome.

I understand the temptation to deflect accountability for speaking on behalf of God as a prophet to His people. I am even sympathetic to the prophet’s plight. They strive for perfection in operating in their gifts knowing there was and will only ever be one perfect prophet.

Jesus operated in every office and every gift and will never be matched in his power or ability. Still though, imperfect as we are we must all carry on in our callings. I am of the opinion though that relying on contortions of scripture to shield oneself from criticism if something one says is going to happen does not will ultimately dull one’s hearing even more. The onus will seem to have been lifted and hearing God accurately may not be as imperative as it once was.

Let us all, prophet or not have faith in God remembering His words “yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”
